If u have cable, u've nothing 2 watch so u listen 2 a funky Train song on ur radio & boogie, then go out for late night walks, when u go out for late night walks, u get run over by a crappy purple Scion. Don't get run over by a crappy purple Scion |
Introduction |
For the pre-KotR event, an achievement themed tourney...go figure! I finally decided to go for Deja Q, along with Crew Quarters: Next Generation (as it is September, 2012 and the 25th anniversary to the month of Next Gen's tv debut.) |
|
Round 1 | | Ben Johnson | TT (0) |
Ben and I were running late, as I had to pick him up. So, when we got there we were the last ones that could be paired up, and got in a rather unimpressive game. |

Round 2 | | Nathan W | FL (-35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Nate. The former Continental Champion. This was, I believe, our third encounter in MN, and as we had not played each other prior, I wanted to get in a game with him. It was a good one, for the most part. Nate was running Kris' Starfleet build. Nathan Samuels really needs to be limited to ONE alien played at cost reduction each turn, imho. And At What Cost? should remove itself from game when used. just my .02. Anyhow, with Nate being three turns ahead, he was about to complete his third mission for the win, when I got to hit his 13 person team with Oh No! on the same turn he used his third AWC?, therefore knocking his score to 95 once that mission was completed, making him need to complete his fourth and final mission. Needless to say, he did, with a Samuels-urped double (or was it triple?) team. My FL, 65-100. I do look forward to facing Nate in some future games, as we did have a good time chatting about the state of the game overall and just socializing. Fun times, indeed. |
Matt had a TNG deck that looked, mostly, like a solver. I had ASFSE and Samuels out early again, so I was moving pretty quick. I went planet first and he nabbed his space mission after I didn't draw much to give him. He slowed down quite a bit on his next mission and I started to pull away. The game was in the bag when I went for my 3rd mission -- needing all its points to win. I sent a huge crew, even though I only needed to stack 1-2 more dilemmas for an autosolve 2nd attempt. Matt had a nice play of Oh! No! whic meant I needed my fourth mission. Unfortunately, that didn't even grant him another turn as I was able to Breach (the) Barrier later that turn. Another beer or two was down we started opening up the liquor. |

Round 3 | | Justin Kaufman | FW (+55) |
Justin's a cool guy. As I've only played him once before, in our Fargo 1E Regional, I've been looking forward to facing him in 2E. He was rocking the neuBorg Diss-sway-dents, a decktype I haven't run since their release back in January-ish. This game, was fun. I got to use, for the first time ever, Ro Laren, Headstrong Ensign, and Richard Galen, Legendary Archaeologist combined, to nice effect. Man, I have a new appreciation for both. My deck worked fantastically here, giving me the FW, 100-45. |
