BajoranCardassianRomulanInteractivity '14 - K is for Kill: Kill'em all, let the Supreme Being sort them out in the hereafter (where we're sending them) v3.1
Introduction
This was the deck (at least the non-Species 8472 stuff) that I had planned to play as my fourth playoff deck last season. The Species 8472 stuff just made a natural fit to plug in and see how well they complemented each other.

Round 1RomulanRyan Heiberg FW (+100)
4 kills... none by a single assassin, but, hey. Here I completed Northwest Passage relatively early, which helped fuel getting the requisite eight s8472 dilemmas in Ryan's core. I subsequently sewed up Terrasphere 8 while holding his Romulans from completing Pegasus Search. My FW, 100-0.

Round 2CardassianFerengiChris VolkFW (+30)
11 kills...better, but, still none by any of my assassins, bummer. This was one funky game. I've faced this deck at least once before in casual play and I applaud Chris on the neat combination he had crafted here. I knew I couldn't take the time to conduct the same strategy as in the tournament's previous game, rather, my only chance at victory would be to nab Terrasphere 8 as quickly as possible and hope to get the 8 s8472 dilemmas in his core as fast as I could do so. Well, as it turned out, I can thank Chris's own actions for my win. Namely, while he Tongo'd and Kotra'd himself to 40 points, his Tongo put me at 30 points, obviating the need to enact my structured strategy to completion and instead just nab my lone pair of attemptable missions for the win. Shran did his thing a few times to thwart Chris's purple and orange allies from nabbing Kressari too quickly, while my sabotaged transporters tech added to my kill tally. Eventually, Chris did score KR, to put him at 70 before I wrapped up NP. My FW, 100-70.

Round 3TNGJohn WesternFW (+25)
15 kills...much better. And some by a couple of my assassins, so yay. Though, John very nearly had my number here. He's getting better at maneuvering his TNG deck and came real close to having the win. He scored ABS with the Dangerous Missions Enterprise-D, for 45 points. I then netted NP, setting up the fuel to power the s8472 dilemmas arriving in his core at a clip. He successively knocked over the roadblocks I tried to put in front of him at Avert Danger and was one mission away from wresting victory from my grasp. I did succeed at T8, alas with only seven 8472 dilemmas in his core. Oh, so close. He attempted to finish his secondary planet, but in doing so, gave me the opportunity I wholly desired and certainly couldn't deny. The eighth dilemma found its way into his core and I was equally victorious in holding his team off from the mission. My turn...and voila, my FW, 100-75.

Closing Thoughts
So, this was the third build of my 3 HQ Assassins deck (the first having been a 2012 Gen Con side event gig that tallied up 11-11-13 in kills, respectively) and although build number 2 never got played, this one was fun and I presume a fourth version will rear its death's head at some future date...if we live that long. Sly nod, sly wink. (Am finishing James Rollins's latest Sigma Force novel, The 6th Extinction and this week's The Blacklist, "The Front," which eerily share the same theme. Oh, and btw, next week's episode features Mr. Homn (Carel Struycken) as the villain, just fyi. And the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer is tantalizing. I can't wait for May! Spader's gonna rock as the genocidal machine.
