Call To Arms Sealed- Borg Queen and Skill Gaining goodness |
Introduction |
Call To Arms Sealed Tournament- Borg Starter with packs, we were allowed to play any personnel pulled from packs at our homeworld. As reported by Greg, the Information drone was banned and would have been overly powerful in this format with being able to play any personnel at Borg Headquarters. |

Round 1 | | Amber Van Breemen | FW (0) |
Amber and I met first round, matchup of 2 borg decks, as I would face all borg decks on this day, only Greg played Dominion starter. Amber was a little slow on playing a ship although she drew through a couple of times before being able to grab a ship. This let me gain a mission advantage early. Amber got stalled on her first attempt at planet with a timely Rogue Borg Ambush that killed a skill key borg for her mission and stopped all personnel with just 1 dilemma (Rogue Borg Ambush was a key dilemma in this tournament especially against borg). Ended up winning 100-0 with Amber misseeding dilemmas at my 2nd attempt. |

Round 2 | | Carlos Pabon | FL (0) |
Carlos and I faced in 2nd round in one of our epic matches. I was a little slow getting a ship out (nicknamed Benitis years ago and recurring today unfortunately). I was able to catch up with 2 quick missions but unfortunately Carlos was able to mass attempt on last attempt and I had half planet dilemmas left (very limited on dilemma selection for this tournament). Carlos ended up winning 100-70 thanks to a 2 turn advantage early on due to lack of me drawing a ship. Funny moment during game when Carlos gave me Secret Identity to take out Yelsar thinking I had no other bajorans in the deck, and I pulled out Tahna Los to give me a 9 strenth bajoran to power through the mission! Good, close game as always with Carlos! |

Round 3 | | billcarrig | FW (0) |
It was Bills first tournament and he played a bunch of low cost borg early on and ended up attempting early on, turn before I did. He attempted planet and got caught on planet facing Rogue Borg Ambush, again killing a key skill personnel and autostopping with just one dilemma. Timely skill gain of Exobiology from Borg Queen helped me power through first two missions in one turn comboed with illtimed dilemmas from Bill. Killed the Borg Queen with a Leadership/Security stop combined with random kill of stopped personnel leaving Bill short of skills. Went through last mission attempt with Borg Queen allowing me to share engineer for the win. Score 100-0. Bill did a good job of playing through the cards and will become better as he plays more games and sees more cards played. |
