Round 1 | | Al Schaefer | FL (-95)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I got Jaeger Bombed. However, deaths on my first attempt were entirely my fault. I forgot to use Lingering Grief to get around Clown: Guillotine. |
I had a really good opening draw and I got to go second, meaning I could download Quark and get off to the races. Maggie played something that gave me 3 card draws on her first turn which included Quark, a Preposterous Plan, and Guinan. Quite possibly the best opening I've ever had with this deck and I put the pressure on fast. Maggie struggled to keep up and seemed to have a tough time finding a ship. Pulled off the bomb and got a quick win. |

Round 2 | | Edward Pigman | FW (+95) |
Ed killed off some of my guys with his resistance fighters. I had the mod win going into my last turn, but he conceded so I ended up with the FW. |

Round 3 | | Eric Bieche | FW (+95) |
Eric was playing his nasty assimilator. He managed to grab four guys. I squeaked past him for the FW. |

This game was very close. I got some good dilemma plays (Insurrection) in to slow him down. Casey made good use of "Rapid" Progress and Infinite Diversity. I was frustrated because I had BOT in hand and no Security Drills to give me someone with 2 Leadership. He Dreamered me and I lost my BOT. The next turn I got Security Drills. The game came down to time on his turn. He went 2nd so I was SOL. My only real mistake was going for Adopted Authority rather than Coolant Leak on his last attempt. I probably could have stopped more folks with that. He had way more engineers than I expected. |
I wasn't sure what Maggie was going to play coming into today, I knew my pile could handle a TNG integ solver but this match turned into a serious showdown. Maggie launched several Adopted Authorities my way, and I really had no answer for it as it handled me several times over at Baku planet. Thanks to the TNG friendly mechanics I was able to get 2 sturdy ships out and decided to cross attempt 2 different missions each turn. Nilz again possibly gave me the MW with his ability to nuke Insurrection otherwise this probably wouldn't have been possible. I took into account the possibility of BoT coming out from experience with other TnG solvers with Security Drills, but thankfully the combo never materialized. |
