Cardassian virtual deck |
Introduction |
This is a small tweak of a MVD deck. He always said that the Cardassians were the best in this format so I thought that I'd check it out.
With the virtual format I got to use some cards that I've really never used before. I like the combo of The Caretaker's Guests and Watch Your Step. I would put a personnel on top of their deck and then make them Discard it next turn.... I'm going to have to use this in other decks :) |

Round 1 | | Brian Leonard | FW (+20)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I was able to pull off the above trick on some key personnel which was nice. Brian was able to score a lot of bonus points and I was worried that he get a two mission win but I was able to eek out the win. |
This is where I learned that my deck can be a bonus point earning machine. Note to self: put in some At What Costs |

Round 2 | | Maggie Geppert | FW (+35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I got pretty lucky and during the mid game drew Evek and was able to play him just before Maggie played hers :). |
Eric was also playing a MVB Cardie deck, but of a different design. I managed to breeze through my two space missions, and was getting ready to do Mine Vendarite. I had Evek in hand ready to play my next turn, so I could get captives for the bonus for that mission. I needed it because without I'd only have 95 pts. He Evek'd me and captured my Evek before I could do so to him, which meant that I had to do Avert Danger. He managed to get really lucky and either Hard Time or killed my science people each time (I had 2 then 3!) so he eked out a win. |

Round 3 | | Al Schaefer | ML (-35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
With Al being able to rescue his captive with Number One I couldn't get any bonus points so it was going to be a mission solving slug fest and while I did a pretty good job of holding off Al he came out ahead in the end. It was a good game. |
Eric is playing a Cardassian Capture deck and gets Sulu and Giotto with an early Evek. Number One rescues them both before he can score any bonus points. I COMPLETELY forget about The Central Command and Eric completes Kressari Rendezvous after I play a lone Infinite Diversity. I make smarter dilemma plays from there on out, but almost gave the game way early. Eric's The Clown: Go Away forced me away from Investigate Maquis Activity and I completed Track Survivors instead, no bonus points, so I would need all 4 missions to get the full win. Eric is also missing bonus points from a lack of captives and an early complete at Kressari, so he will need 4 missions as well. My dilemma pile is getting slim, but Eric tries a small team which allows me to stack Greater Needs for a second time and secure the modified win. Eric had a lot more dilemmas left than I did, I'm not 100% sure I could have pulled out the full win if we played out the game. |
