Tournament Report - 2E |

Cardassian Battleships. Starring Cardassian Rhianna. Because shes an alien. |
Introduction |
Brought the Groumal Cardy ship deck out of mothbals- According to the deck links, it's almost two years since I played it. Thankfully, it's a pretty redundant deck so it's easy to avoid a ton of dumb mistakes. I'd like to add in more of the AU Cardassian tricks, but had no Rokassa printed and only one AU Garak. Still worked pretty well. The addition of Tacking into the Wind really helped. |

Round 1 | | Brian Leonard | FW (+45)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Brian got out to a slow start. Mine was a bit better and managed to get out solving before he did. I managed to keep the lead all game. Brian was pretty upset about Central Command. I don't blame him one bit. |
Ed won. |

Round 2 | | Corbin Johnson | FL (-70)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Corbin got off to a BLAZING start. Samuels turn one with a boat load of personnel. A ship followed and he was out attempting on turn three. Yay. I got a slower start- lots of events, not enough spoonheads. A triple kill on my first space attempt cost me the game since I had to rebuild, fly home, rest and fly back. Meanwhile cheap aliens and a damaged enterprise sealed the coffin. |
I'd like to play cardassians again. |

Round 3 | | Al Schaefer | FW (+15)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
This one was a nail biter. Al got off to a slightly slower start than I did, so I was out attempting first. Al's greasy Dukat and Donatra gave me too many options to lock down with Silarin Prin so I chose Donatra knowing my dilemma pile would need the help. I got two captives from Evek, and these processed thru Corbin Entek along with Tacking into the Wind helped me get rid of key events: a GUYS and two power shifts. This game came down to the last turn, time was called, last attempt, and me using Central Command to unstop one personnel. Down to the wire redefined. |
Ed brought a Cardassian Groumal deck today. I got off to a good start scoring some early points before he cancelled my P&P and GUYS. But Ed was still able to solve Commandeer Prototype while my crew was being stopped by cards like Tactical Disadvantage. Donatra was easily dismissed by one of the 3 Secret ID's that Ed played at my first space mission, then she was held at bay for the remainder of the game by Silarin Prin. I only drew one of my Amanda's this game and squandered it on an event in Ed's core instead of saving it for a Central Command or to protect Power Shift. Needless to say, Ed destroyed my Power Shift which I could have used to win the game, and Ed used The Central Command to get past one of my walls which would have earned me another turn. I also felt I missed a lot of opportunities to get a download from Tal in this game. It was still an extremely close game, and I would have won on my next turn, but it was not to be. |

Closing Thoughts |
This is still a fun deck. I worry about it's effectiveness vs. TOS due to Sisko, and VS DS9 due to Holding cell. Captives with Entek and Tacking are BFFs for this deck and I may include Ensnared to get rid of key personnel. Greasy Dukat is like the worst card ever for this deck. I'm prett sure all three games had him in play. |
