Tournament Report - 1E - Worlds Day One |

"Fate protects fools, little children and ships named Enterprise" |
Introduction |
Loss of orbital stability was going to be my secret weapon this tournament - I was hoping it would gainme a few turns. |
Round 1 | | stephen lee | FL (-21) |
Steven killed Kirk with a Tribble Bomb early on and made all my missions worth less 10 points. Getting to 100 was going to be challenging. I spent a lot of time and resources moving Tribbles around but gained a few turns with Loss of Orbital Stability. In the end Steven had too much momentum and took out the full win. |

Round 2 | | Daniel Waller | FW (+100) |
I triggered a Scout Encounter dilemma on one of my mission attempts and Daniel played a Romulan scout ship. By chance, that ship was at the mission where I triggered the Duras download which he also placed aboard the ship. When he tried to move it away from a planet mission I stop his ship. I was satisfied with the result, but Daniel wanted me to explain what had happened. So we read through the card together and realised his Scout Vessel was actually desroyed having only shields of 3 - I found it funny, Daniel not so much. I managed to take out the full win. |

Round 3 | | Daniel Hyde | FW (+70) |
The start of the triple header vs team WA. I was getting the hang of playing Loss of Orbital Stability and seemed to get lucky and draw all five in the top half of my deck. Playing Vash and Dig gave me a sixth use of the interupt. Slowing Daniel down I mamaged to get the Full Win. |
Round 4 | | Robert Dawson | FL (0) |
Robert taught me a lesson in 1E. He played lots of point loss dilemmas forcing me to solve missions for 20 or less points. However, I managed to slow him down with Loss of Orbital Stability. On my second last turn I managed to break open all of his dilemmas and solved two missions for more than 50 points. I was waiting for him to play the Referee card and make me lose some points but he didn't. I decided he didn;t have it so attempted a third mission. Then Robort made me lose all my points. Oh well - lesson learned - referee cards can be played at any time - not as a response. I think I solved 4 missions to Roberts 2-3 and still lost the game. |

Round 5 | | Garry Dillon | FW (+15) |
Garry plays dilemma combos that a tough to get through and today was no different. He also started attempting missions earlier than the last time we met, I was bracing myself for another loss to the trio of Dillon's. This is when my Loss of Orbital Stability stategy kicked in and bought me 3-4 extra turns. I mamaged to bust through his dilemmas eventually and take out the full win. |
Round 6 | | Matthew Townsend | FW (+100) |
Matthew did not enjoy facing Loss of Orbital stability. I locked him down and pretty much cleared out dilemmas under three missions before he had a chance to even move. He did attempt each of his six mission but got stuck at all of them. |

Closing Thoughts |
I was happy with the result. Slightly disappoined I didn't get the chance to face off against Jeremy or Ken and see what tech they were playing. Tomorrow I was up against Ben Dillon who I had never beaten and i was pretty sure he would play his Klingon / Federation TNG deck. I thought I would be best to try something different other than Loss of Orbital Stability tomorrow but wasn't sure what it would be. |
