TNG WCT League ID Draft Worlds 2012 |
Introduction |
What a great draft - I didn't need the second HQ (Klingon) as noone seemed to be drafting Federation. I ended up with only five Klingons so it worked out well that they were not needed. |
Round 1 | | Amber Van Breemen | FW (+35) |
Amber and I both had one mission solved when I got the chance to use Tampering With Time to stop her playing dilemmas effectively on my final mission attempt. A close game - Tampering With Time gave me the edge. |
Round 2 | | Shane Brierley | TT (0) |
Against Shane I hit The Clown Go Away at both missions slowing me down. The benefit of solving two missions at once is I locked up his copy of In Development. We were locked at 35-35 when time was called. I had a chance to solve my final mission with 14 personnel on table, but Shane had options to draw extra dilemmas. I decided to attempt with everyone and hope for the best and was unable to get the win. Chula: Unfortunate Roll failed to hit at a critical stage of the game. |
Round 3 | | Mike Garvey | FW (+35) |
Mike's mission totals made it difficult for him t take out this one (30-35-40). He attempted the 30 and 35 pointers and nearly solved both but would have fallen short of 70 points. I managed to get home for the full win. |
Round 4 | | Unjustly Banned | FL (-35) |
This game was close. James had excellent dilemmas for the format and managed to power past me with some well played dilemmas. Chula: Unfortunate Roll also failed to hit at a critical stage of the match that might have helped swing the match in my favour. Well played James. |

Closing Thoughts |
Probably the best I have done at an ID draft - hopefully a sign that I am getting a better understanding of the format. It was lots of fun. |
