Tournament Report - 2E - Worlds Day Two
2012-09-09 - 09:00 AM
CardassianI prefer the title \'Gul\' - So much more hands-on than \'Legate\', hm? And less pretentious than the other alternatives - President, Emperor, First Minister - Emissary! (V2)
Introduction
So last few major events I am doing pretty well as Day 1 finishing reliably in 2nd or 3rd but I suck at Day 2 -- not enjoying the pressure of elimination (just like my beloved Bears). Hoping my luck will change.

Round 1BorgLee ClarkeFL (0)
With a second chance I was calm and collected in this game. I patiently waited while Lee set up his Borg to assimilate my personnel. The plan was to get two crews and attempt two missions on the same turn with a hand full of interrupts. Hopefully Dreamer him the turn before and steamroll two missions on one turn. Things pretty much went to plan. Time was called and Lee got stranded on 85 to my 70. To win I had to solve my final mission with two attempts. Lee managed to stop me by one skill playing Urgency on my mission final mission attempt. As close as a game can get.

Round 2Jeremy CommandeurFL (0)
Jeremy revealed a TNG micro-team solver and I knew i was in trouble. Then I had a slow start and struggled to get my excessive drawing of cards going (Tain, Damar and Bashir with These are the Voyages). In hindsight I made a heap of poor choices and if i had stayed focussed had a strong chance of winning the game. One turn in it - Jeremy taking the full win.

Round 3Missed GameMG (0)

Round 4Missed GameMG (0)

Round 5Missed GameMG (0)

Closing Thoughts
I suck at Day 2 - my record is now 1 win and 5 losses - I need to improve my nerve in elimination games.
