Steve Hartmann (chompers) Tournament Report - 1E 2013-08-30 - 06:00 PM Not bad for a spoonhead Introduction Three new players! One was a returning 1E player and a couple that saw our advert for STar Trek dropped in to play having no knowledge of the game. What ensued was a crazy tournament with people sitting out to teach others how to play. Lots of fun! Round 1 Ben Wynn FL (-55) I was playing a Cardassian Federation TNG deck in the Badlands Region with holograms. The plan was to use Holoprogram Deadwood to increase the range of one of my missions to 9. My opponet would hit Cytherians and be unable to pass my blockage (assuming they have range 8 or less). Then an Assimilated Vessel would come over and blow them up. It didn;t work out as Ben increase the range of the Enterprise to 9 and flew past the blockade. Then the Assimilated Vessel and Ben's dilemmas blew up all my ships instead. DOH! Round 2 Missed Game MG (0) I took a break to teach Max and Ilona how to play. Klingons and Ferengi got stuck trying to solve missions. The score was 80-70 in favour of Ilona and they both ended up in the middle of the board solving neighbouring missions. Max decked out and attacked Ilona making her lose most of her personnel. Ilona retaliated and cleared the board of Max's personnel. Then Ilona decked out taking the win. They had fun, took a Tribbles Go promo and we hope to see them again. Round 3 Adam Sesperez FL (-30) My blockade worked well and I destroyed two of Adam's ships with Assimilated Vessel. However, the Assimilated Vessel also destroyed one of my ships, and my Whale Probe locked me out of my missions that would have got me the win. Then I hit a Gomtuu which reduced my range also preventing me from getting the win. Close game with lots of small things impacting both of us. Eventually Adam mamaged to grind out the win. Round 4 Abe Walters FW (+100) Abe got a big crew and attempted his first space mission ad hit Cytherians. That ship got blocked by my Deadwood program ship and the Assimilated Vessel couldn't penetrate his shields. I was able to attempt everywhere with all my Merchant ships coming out this game and got the win before Adam could properly recover. Closing Thoughts This deck has potential but there is too much going on. With a few changes I am sure it will be more competitive. Borg Ship seems a better choice than Assimilated Vessel.
