Introduction |
This is the TN Kressari Rendevous one mission win deck. It worked pretty well but dilemma draws play a big part in it's success or failure. |

Round 1 | | Ed Martinez | FW (+50)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Ed was playing Founder's Homeworld and played it very well. He used the event that stops a personnel when it's reported unless it's a Jem'Hadar. At least some of my guys were Jemmies so it wasn't that bad. Ed managed to get two damage markers on my ship, one dilemma and one attack event. Fortunately, I had enough range to limp home, but it cost me a turn to get rid of them. We both kept banging away at our missions. I forced Ed to leave his first mission with Go Away but he came back as soon as he could. I managed to get enough dilemmas under my mission to complete it with no time left on the clock. Since I went second, I got to finish my last turn. I tossed out some Bat'leths and some Ruling Councils for the full win, 80-0. |
I should have expected Ricks TR deck. He usually always brings one out for SlipStream. I got one of my three frictions out and it helped. I staff my ship quickly. Rick put out his cards quickly. He got two ruling council and two hand weapons out quickly before we attempted missions. I knew I would be facing a fast deck, so I placed my ship at my mission as fast as possible and then sent one ship to intercept his ship. Perhaps too fast and unprepared. The first dilemma I came across was the Clown : GO Away. The CLown : GO Away is OVER POWERED. I never came across it before. I was baffled. And I was too stubborn and thought I could still attempt. Next time I will just go away. This dilemma cast me the game and Gave Rick the advantage. I spent way too much time on it. Well played. I was able to mission stop him once and then Damage his ship enough to send it back home. But Rick won on the very last round. |

Round 2 | | Martin Drake | FW (+35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Martin played a TN deck as well. He used a different strategy by including several Non-Aligned personnel in his deck, for skills and staffing. We too had a close game. Martin scored first by doing a 35 point mission and getting started on his second. My dilemma draws were good enough to stall him out until I could pull of the Kressari Rendevous/Bat'leth/Ruling Council trick. So, I managed another full win, 70-35. |
Lost this one, but will see if I can get some bonus points next time |
|
Round 3 | | Joseph Bazemore | ML (-30) |
Joe was playing a Ferengi deck with lots of extra drawing and playing mechanics. He almost went through his whole draw deck in the 30 minutes we played. The luck of the dilemma draw failed me in this game. I had to burn through both the Unexpected Difficulties I had on the table and that still wasn't enough. I kept drawing dilemmas that wouldn't stop enough of his personnel to get his attributes below what the mission required. It didn't help that he had the ship that boosts attributes and Bashir. So, I took this one on the chin and didn't even get the consolation of my five points from playing Odo. A modified loss to a deserving victor, 0-30. |

Closing Thoughts |
I like the Slipstream format. It makes deckbuilding fun and interesting. There are many things you don't have to worry about, but other things that normally don't come into play that you do have to worry about. Plus, with the short games, everyone gets to go home a little early, or in our case, play a game of Tribbles! |
