Moody Blues - Days of Future Past |
Introduction |
This was my first attempt at a Relativity deck and I figured a Slipstream tournament would be as good a time as any. |
|
Round 1 | | Bye | BY (0) |
All dressed up and no place to go. I drew the bye. At least it was only a 30 minute wait! |

|
Round 2 | | Sean O'Reilly | FW (+50) |
Sean was playing Cadets and going for the 40 point Cadet mission, Practice Orbital Manouvers and bonus points for his strategy. I went with the 50 point planet mission, Aid Lost Colony so I would't have to worry about event or interrupt destruction of bonus points.
Sean got out of the gate first and attempted with seven people. I made a good dilemma draw and killed two people on the attempt and the mission attempt failed. I then put a couple of dilemmaas under my mission and waited for Sean to go get some more crew members. But, uh-oh! He had been de-staffed and couldn't go anywhere or do the mission! My turn, another couple of dilemmas overcome. Sean's turn, reports a 7-cost ship, still can't move. My turn, overcome a couple of more dilemmas and solve the mission for the full win, 50 - 0.
I didn't plan on de-staffing his ship, I just got lucky with the dilemmas. |

Round 3 | | Ted Reebel | FW (+50) |
Ted was playing a high cunning Non-Aligned DS-9 deck. His plan was to do two very easy planet missions for the points needed. I was able to put The Clown, Go Away on the mission and stop his attempt with a couple of more dilemmas. My strategy was the same this game, put a couple of dilemmas under each turn, which I did.
I stopped Ted again on the next attempt and put another two dilemmas underneath my Aid Lost Colony. Now Ted decided to move to his other planet mission and "Go Away." Okay by me. He attempted with nine people and I had enough good dilemmas to choose from after using Unexpected Difficulties to stop him. Then I overcame a couple more dilemmas and finished my mission for the full win, 50 - 0. |

Closing Thoughts |
Slipstream may not be a fair tournament format to judge how well my deck did, but I feel pretty good that it did win the two games I played. I don't know if the deck design would hold up to a full 100 point game, but it did okay for the quick 50 point games. |
