Introduction |
Noticed that practically nobody played Terok Nor during regionals (from reading the spiffy Road to Worlds articles!) and it made me curious to try out a TN deck. |

Round 1 | | Andrew | FW (-100) |
Andrew was playing some kind of Maquis Artifact deck, but it never really got off the ground. He especially had trouble drawing in Command stars to staff his ships, which kept him from making more than a couple attempts. Meanwhile my deck rolled along quite smoothly. I solved each of my missions on my second attempt, and garnered enough bonus points at Kressari to make it a two-mission win. FW for me, 100-0. |

Round 2 | | Nathan W | FW (-30)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Nate played a Romulan Galgathong (sp?) / At An Impasse / discard-your-hand-stuff deck. It seriously hampered me but never managed to shut me down completely (since TN is mostly cheap non-unique guys). The worst thing the discarding side of his deck did was take out all three of my Ruling Councils, which forced me to solve three missions. Nate’s dilemmas did pretty well, but failed him at one key moment – he played Captain’s Holiday while I had two copies of Noret’ikar in my away team, allowing me to overcome it and Deliver some Prisoners. My dilemma pile performed very well, and held off the Romulans long enough for me to eek out the win. Very close game. FW for me, 100-70. |
I started off early with 'thong and Triumph was soon acting as if he was going to easily lose. I gave him some advice, which had I known the outcome, I wouldn't have! Anyways, I was never able to clear the board and I drew the dilemmas I needed all at the wrong time. Meanwhile, he had some great dilemma plays which held me off a turn or two longer than I'd normally like. Combined it let him complete 3 missions -- 'thong trashed his RCs -- before I could finish my last one and he won. FL: 65-100. |

Round 3 | | Bye | BY (0) |
Technically my round 3 ended up as a BYE, so this is about the final confrontation with Ben Hosp. Ben played a Deep Space 9 deck using Kira, First Officer to get all sorts of nifty high-cost personnel into play, including ones he couldn't normally play, like Bareil Antos. He ran Investigate Maquis Activity, Amnesty Talks, and planned to investigate the Maquis twice using Favor The Bold. He solved IMA on his first attempt, but I stalled a good while AT. Meanwhile I eventually solved Kressari for a bunch of points. Insurrection slowed me some (one attempt I had exactly 40 strength!). The loss of Dukat and two Ruling Councils to a Holding Cell was inconvenient, but Damar was a very useful Adjutant, and my third Ruling Council got through. I also gained 10 points from Ben's Tongo, which I won a couple times. All this set me up to need to solve Deliver Prisoners for the win. Ben complete Amnesty talks eventually, but Rogue Borg Ambushed his guys when they return to IMA. Next turn Damar led his team to victory by delivering the prisoners. FW, 100 to...75, I think (not quite certain what Ben's final score was). |
