Terok NorThe fault is not in our stars but in ourselves, that we are underlings
Introduction
So. Terok Nor. Academy format. Choosing to go for the achievement for having only [Stf] stars. Yeah. For a twist, I put in three copies of Prefix Codes and three copies of Persistent Strike, just to see if I could compensate for my poor personnel selection by blowing something up.

Round 1DS9-EarthTerok NorOliver ThustFL (-100)
Quasi-mirror match. TN with its usual tricks, plus a posse of DS9 folks at DS9-Earth. I got nothing this game. Couldn't draw the skills to solve a mission. I might one of a skill, go attempt, and then Oliver would kill it with dilemmas or Weyoun it away. Also, Navaar is COMMON??? Such a stupid card; definitely hampered my dilemmas. My dilemmas weren't especially effective. Hitting Oliver with Prefix Codes a couple times, making him go back to repair each time, was fun. FL for me, 100-0.

Round 2TOSTjark OttFW (+100)
Got much better draws this time, including personnel with mission skills!!! Also pulled off the deck’s big trick, getting two scout vessels in play, then a Prefix Codes, then dropping two Persistent Strikes to blow up Enterprise-B and most of the TOS TMP crew. Tjark was playing a Bare Minimum deck, so the loss of a bunch of personnel really hurt. FW 100-0 for me.

Round 3DS9-EarthTyler FultzFW (+70)
Wow. My first constructed win over the mighty Tyler Fultz! :D Managed to solve both Kressari Rendezvous without keeping enough Terok Nor icon personnel around to be able to play Ruling Council. Then I did the same thing with Signal for Rescue. I = uber-lame noob. I managed to go on and solve Survey New World for the win. How, you ask? Well, my dilemma pile / playing took a level in Awesome. I managed to stop Tyler's DS9-Earth people over and over, sometimes with one dilemma (In Development at just the right moment, an astounding lucky Pitching In at another). Probably Tyler's biggest setback was one attempt where he brought 15 personnel. I'd played Infatuation earlier, so he was completely taken off guard when I had a second anti-mega team dilemma - Fractured Time made six of his personnel go away. FW 100-30.

Round 4CardassianTerok NorAuwerd BijkerFL (-55)
Very close game. Quasi-mirror-match against a mixed Cardassian Groumall crew solver / Terok Nor tricks deck. None of my deck's tricks ever really got off the ground. Still, I grabbed an early lead by solving Kressari super quickly (Auwerd misjudged Dangerous Liaisons's ability to stop me). After that, though, he played dilemmas masterfully, stopping me multiple times with nothing under. Meanwhile he caught up, scoring 70 points off his Kressari. The game came down to the last turn where I screwed up by putting Timescape after a dilemma that stopped all the people in his first attempt. That auto-overcame Timescape and let him send in a second team to solve for the win, 100-45. If I had played intelligently, he wouldn't have gotten that second attempt, and instead I would have solved for the win on my next turn.

Closing Thoughts
Playing with no CMD personnel is hard! LOL. This tournament had two big firsts for me - first time beating Tyler in constructed play (even if it is just academy), and first time blowing up a ship. Wooooo! Not the best way to play academy format, but I'm pleased with how the deck performed. Not so pleased with my own performance at times, but...meh. Hopefully I'm improving and becoming more challenging to play against. :)
