Introduction |
TOS solver with a (hopefully sneaky) side of battle. I only blew up one ship, though. One opponent only made 1 space attempt, one opponent kept removing my damage dilemmas with B'Elanna Torres, and one opponent I didn't draw ships / battle cards in time to do anything.

Round 1 | | Tyler Fultz | ML (-20)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
I never got around to doing any practice games with this deck, so I fumbled and bumbled (and played slow - sorry, Tyler! ). Tyler was running his DS9 Unstoppable deck...but with TNG Earth so Guinan+Preposterous Plan could help fuel AWC? / Jaresh / Charles Whatley. It's a solid deck. Key play of the game was when I got Greater Needs onto the Centuar. He beamed his whole crew down, and I came over next turn and blew up his ship. Consequently, on his next turn he had to attempt with such a huge crew that I was able to draw / play enough dilemmas to stop him. Without that little hassle, he probably would have solved for the win. Despite that little cool moment, I still took a ML (I got one mission to his two). |
I dropped my Guinan early with two Preposterous Plans for 15 points. That set me up really well for the rest of the game. Jonathan got off to a slow start as he was still learning the deck . A bad dilemma play gave me my first mission in one attempt. That pretty much killed his ship battling strategy. From there it was a fairly smooth ride to victory. |

Round 2 | | Lance Stonecipher | FW (+100) |
Lance was playing a borrowed a deck, and in addition to learning the deck he is still learning the game. That said, he had some very good dilemma plays. FW (100-0) for me. |

Round 3 | | John Corbett | FL (-70)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
John was playing a Klingon solver with a Tragic Turn d-pile. His dilemmas were not especially effective against me (he made me glad I put two copies of Genetronic Treatment in the deck, though!), but they were enough to slow me down. Meanwhile the his mighty Klingons steadily ploughed through my dilemmas and he earned the FW (I got one mission, and was about to solve the second). Lesson learned: Klingons hate picking up rocks. |
His dilemma pile had a tough time stopping Klingons. |
|
Round 4 | | Gerhard Hallgren | FW (+65) |
Gerhard played a Relativity deck with...a gigantic dilemma pile. I detected no theme. I tagged Relativity with Gomtuu or Greater Needs...three times, I think, but B'Elanna kept removing it. I killed B'Elanna he Temporally Transported her back...so I was never able to make battle work. Fortunately I didn't need it. Matt Decker blew up The Play's The Thing, which took out a couple guys at one point. And when I solved ALC, that took more wind out of his sails. FW for me (100...I don't remember Gerhard's score). |

Closing Thoughts |
Hmm...not as good as I would have liked, but not bad. Both the deck and I have room for improvement. Fun tournament, overall. Definitely an improvement over my performance last year with AU Starfleet.
Oh, FWIW, I only own one Prefix Codes, and since asking to borrow more would kind of give away the surprise, well, that's why the deck isn't more code-heavy. |
