By the time I played my first game (about 5 days into the event) all games not involving me had already been played (it was round robin) and Triumph had lost all of his games. So perhaps that coloured my opinion of how this game would go, as I played really stupid as though winning was given.
I attempted with big crews and Triumph tossed a lot of Ds every time to make sure that even cheating I would fail and twice I spent two cheaters on attempts that failed due to thinking that I could bust the later dilemmas by keeping everyone through the early ones. I should have waited until he couldn't toss many and THEN cheated like a bastard.
I attempted my 40 point mission first, as it was the one I had redundancy for skills and that gave me an extra 5 to spend with At What Cost when I completed it. But then I went out to my 30 point mission thinking that I was good on points but forgetting to add in both the spent 5 for AWC and the needed extra 5 for Genesis' gametext. As such, this attempt cost me a bit of time and lives while netting 4 dilemmas under a mission that was pointless to solve. On the plus side, those were dilemmas that Triumph was never seeing again.
As it was, I sent crews at the remaining planets and got a huge number of Ds under each by my last turn leaving Triumph with exactly 0 to toss if I got another turn, but I needed to hold him out with not many dilemmas available to draw and most of my dilemma aiding events tossed to try to cheat missions. As it was, he won on the turn before I had an autowin. |
