Riker's in the Holodeck Again |
Introduction |
Online tournament, I brought a Chef deck for the new These are the Voyages achievement. |

Round 1 | | Jon Carter | FW (+100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Great showing against pfti's deck, which was a huge deck apparently based on BRC and Raiders, though it turned out to be designed to trigger The Issue Is Patriotism/DH dump. His trouble was that although he did snag my holo-Archer (rules check, yes since he's going to a facility), he was deactivated and so couldn't battle. Anyway, his first Chula: The Way Home was thwarted by Fiona's Raktajino, and coming back to RulesofOb after a failure meant I could have it target (i.e. only deactivate) a hologram. Holo-ness also saved me from a Love Interest, and I cleared my second mission in one turn (with a few attempts from different ships). My next turn we didn't even play out, it was so clear that I'd solve that mission and return to the one where I'd found Dead End. Jon tried a rush in that last turn, but lacked the Treachery to pass RoO. |
Matt has holos, so I am not able to relocate people. I lose |

I had an opponent scheduled at first, but he dropped. |

Round 3 | | Paddy Tye | FL (-35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Like in my first-round game, my opponent had a large region: The Neutral Zone, for TNG Roms. I had successes at dilemmas early, fortunately passing both Jol Yichu (Nik+Emory) and White Rabbit (Arik+Emory), to solve a space but get stopped by Medical Crisis at a planet. That's a tough one for this deck, I need to draw into certain meatbags for the Biology, and the MED is not easy either (especially with some equippable people lost to DNP). I tried the other planet, losing more to HLE. Paddy passed fewer dilemmas on their first encounter,
and sometimes had to wait multiple turns for the skills he needed, but did eventually pass Nano and Rift and QL, to first solve a space mission (getting a Cryo with a Genesis Device) and clear a planet. Now Paddy had his win sewn up on the next turn (Genesis Device at a cleared mission), and all I could manage on this final turn was to solve one cleared mission (I could alternately have passed HLE, though that wouldn't clear it) to finish at only two solves. |
Matt was playing These Are the Voyages with Starfleet Holos mixed with Fed TNG. Fortunately my Planet combos slowed him down enough to let me draw into a second Archaeology to get through his Quantum Leap, and I had cleared Iconia in advance, but was waiting for the stopped Archaeologists to come solve it, so I sent a small fleet to attack his ship to either damage him or return his ship to hand and deny him LSWOT draws. He opted to return to hand and while he could solve a second mission, couldn’t then reach a third, so I picked up the win. |

Closing Thoughts |
Fun to play. If I try this again sometime, I should add more meat Biology. |
