Tournament Report - Tr Tribbles - Online Event
2011-04-24 - 08:00 PM
Introduction
This was my first time playing Tribbles at all, regardless of it being online or in a tournament. It was fun! Thanks to Dan for running the game, and for translating the action when needed for me, both as a new player and one who wasn't using Skype. (And also for the deck, since the one I played was largely based on the Go/Clone Hybrid he posted.)

Round 1 ()
This round seemed to go on forever -- at least 45 minutes -- and I was starting to wonder how long these things usually take. I just kept getting the wrong cards in my hand and having to draw, which seemed to be a problem for other people too. (It also didn't help me that Go kept getting frozen.) I discovered the fun of using a Copy tribble on someone else's Score tribble, which I used in later rounds too. Eventually someone went out, and Dan walked me through where my cards went for the next round.

Round 2 ()
A much quicker round. Was this the one where we kept reversing the direction?

Round 3 ()
I got a much better draw this round, and was able to go out with 110,213 tribbles. Late in the round, I was getting optimistic with several 1-Tribble cards in my hand including a Discard, and it ended up working! I also played my Time Warp card, but of course it didn't trigger since I went out.

Round 4 ()
A quick round, I recall. I played my Safety, so my hand didn't get discarded.

Round 5 ()
Played my Safety again, not that it mattered. Lots of Freezes this round. And they kept freezing Clone, which was usually most of my hand. Someone went out right before the 2-hour mark, right on schedule -- and good for me, so I could finally log off and get to bed around 1AM.
