Round 1 | | Torbjörn Lindquist | FW (+100) |
This was Linkan's first 1E Lackey game, so he made some unfortunate mistakes but also got some pointers from me. I had one easy mission since the dilemmas were mis-seeded, and stole Host Metaphasic after Gomtuu damaged his Enterprise. I also got 5 Pagh points from battling the Enterprise before destroying it, and later Seized Freighter to win 115-0. We each were hit by Subspace Shock Wave, and were each using a BBSD -- which makes it pretty powerful (but also slow, at least in Lackey): flip, kill, flip, kill, 2 more kills. On his last turn, Linkan cleared the dilemmas at Last Outpost, but didn't have an OFFICER in play to solve. |

Round 2 | | Danny Nuttall | ML (-30) |
Danny seeded two stealable missions, Sleeper Ship and Burial Site. And a Battle Bridge Door. I'm playing Klingon and he's Klingon/NA, so we were both free to battle each other on any turn. We both got out several ships quickly, and I attacked to destoy his Bortas with Gowron aboard. I decided that blowing up the ship was more important than Pagh points from Officer Exchange Program, so we were still 0-0. With all his ships, he targeted not my Batris (though he didn't notice its special boost) nor the Pagh, but the K'Vort ... which had my Gowron aboard. Still, I had another in hand, and re-reported him next turn to continue my play engine. I got Koral in play and tried stealing Burial Site. I breezed through my 4 dilemmas, to hit the self-seed there: Difference of Opinion. Man, that's a brilliant way to protect that mission against theft. With my only NA stopped, my mission attempt aborted, but the mission was clear and Danny swooped in to take it next turn. 0-40, when it should have been 40-0. He also attacked my empty docked Pagh, and was surprised that even empty and docked, the rules allow it to draw tactics for defense ... and it scraped together enough DEFENSE to match his ATTACK, and get no damage. I knew at this point I should attempt my own missions to try to get points, but I was worried about more ship destruction, as we both had 3 ships out again. So I attacked again. First with only two of my ships (destroyed his KVort, my Bortas got damaged), then with just one of mine against just one of his (his other is still stopped from the first battle). I planned it wrong, though, and attacked his MercShip with my weaker Pagh. No damage to him, some to me. We then both worked on mission solving, flying in opposite directions. He went after the Armus mission, and I Romulus -- both of which had our Arsenal/Forsaken/GoodDayToLie combo, which took a few turns to get through. I took a detour, sending my ship with just Gowron a few missions over to our shared Qo'nos. He switched to Chancellor Gowron (does not discard Continuing Mission), SD War Room ... and also killed Nu'daq who had reported there (Danny later told me this was bait, in hopes of reporting a ship for more battle and stranding me, but that ship didn't get drawn). We were by now running out of time, and I was worried I wouldn't solve Romulus before time ran out. So I went for another steal, Sleeper Ship. I got through the 5 dilemmas I'd put there and solved, to tie the score 40-40. (And cloaked, since one of those dils was War Games; didn't want him to score the easy 5.) For his final turn, he finished the Armus mission to reach 70-40. |

Round 3 | | J | FW (+100) |
J was playing Starfleet, with two time locations for Starfleet and Klingon. And 6 missions, which made me reshuffle my dilemmas; fortunately, I had 4-card combos, so I was still generally left with strong dilemmas. The weakest combo went to Earth, which I knew he could attempt but not first, and I hoped to simply keep him from getting that far. My Scow became a self seed, to be towed to his mission. I got going early, with my Pagh downloads and free plays; he got going much more slowly, with only one temporal agent who could play Out Of Time. His dilemmas did their best to lock me out: I got stopped by Important Guests/Friendly Fire twice, and Linguistic Legerdemain once (for a countdown of 5). And I found my RGS, plus two of his … all of which my universal Pagh engineers then towed to his missions. When he finally got his ship to the spaceline, my Bortas damaged it down to range 2, unmovable. I didn't destroy it next turn only because I waited for my Pagh to arrive to battle it for points … which it then decided against, because (I wrongly thought) the crew I put on it was needed for missions. (The specifics? The final dilemma at Seize Frieghter was Mimetic Simbiot, which targeted my only officers there, Konmel and Worf. I let Worf "die" and saved him with the ETU, but then couldn't solve. I turned the Pagh around to have Riker join them next turn, forgetting that by then Worf would be available anyway.) In the end, I solved Amnesty Talks (with Duras, after waiting for FF), Freighter (with Konmel and Worf, after waiting for FF), and Borg Ship (with Zegov and Kitrik, after waiting for LL) to win 100-0. |

Round 4 | | Ben Hosp | FL (-35) |
I got the Pagh out early, then made a tactical blunder when it attacked Ben's D'Kora without distinct numerical advantage. He got a huge boost from the Ferengi Energy Weapon (that thing is monstrous!), and damaged my Pagh without a scratch to him. Then next turn he brought his ships over from several locations and blew up my Pagh. He had two 40-point missions that I would have liked to steal, but I had all my missions on one end of the spaceline and his 40-pointers were too far away. I solved Romulus (without Vekma who died on the Pagh; a little later she was retrieved with GetItDone + Pagh download). Ben tried Host Test, losing Kurak to Subspace Shock Wave and then using her integrity to score when he solved. Right after, I tried Borg Ship, where Chula Chandra selected Riker and the only one who joined him was B'Somgh... and luckily, the two of them were the ones needed to pass the LingLeg that followed. So I soon solved, bringing it to 65-46. I needed a space mission, and one of my two (Amnesty) was duplicated so had both of our dilemmas under it, so I tried the other, Seize Freighter. My first ship (Pagh again) got War Games put on it ... so on his turn, after solving Calder II (86), he came to my Pagh to score War Games (91), and blasted it for Ferengi Military points (96). I tried again with a second ship, and it got blasted towards his end of the spaceline by Gomtuu. I was ready to regroup and pass Gomtuu and solve next turn for the 35 I needed (Vekma+Korris), but instead Ben blew up my second ship for another 5 Military points: FL 101-65.
