Introduction |
Talos DS9 constructed, chasing my 5th win. On advice from Eric, I combined the free reports of Bajorans with the AMS and attack power of Klingons.

Round 1 | | Adam Warpinski | FW (+100) |
I had DS9 at Bajor, he had a Nor at Establish Station ... plus Central Command and an outpost between my facilities. With so many facilities, I declined to focus on battle, and went for speed solving. While he spent some turns getting his Nor set up with ASS and Process Ore, I got plenty of personnel and a ship. Once I got ROTB, I attempted a mission, stopping at Odo's Cousin and the next turn solving for 50 with AMS points. ROTB the next turn brought me to 65. Another mission fell quickly and we were done.

Round 2 | | Meinhard S. Rohr | FW (+20) |
I mostly had one spaceline end, he had his Romulan OP deep in the other. MY planet mission attempt failed DNA Clues and thus got 3 medics trapped by Hippo; a space attempt tripped a Scout Encounter that downloaded the Cha'Joh, then froze at QSL. Opaka still returned an Orb Fragment for 10, after which the Romulans solved Qonos for 40. After I got back my medics, including Vekma for her AMS points, I returned to solve Distress Mission for 50. Reattmepting CNE put a Cytherians on the T'Ong (range 5!), heading for Romulan space. But before it got anywhere, I solved with another crew, bringing me to 105.

Round 3 | | J | FL (-10) |
J played Borg, with 4 missions in the Gamma quadrant that his Objectives would target. This took him a while, but his dilemmas backed him up. I earned the Orb Fragment from Reported Activity, but it was guarded by a Harvester Virus, a DFG, and a Dalrok. I couldn't get a team together that could solve the mission or beam up. Trying CNE, I again failed DNA Clues / Hippo, and my 3 Sorads got whisked to the Gamma Quadrant (where they got assimilated with the planet, but I don't think J noticed). My ship hit Conundrum, but I couldn't get to the Borg. I solved my two missions but without much AMS points, and the score got to 90-50. He then got his final two objectives just before time.

Round 4 | | Kenneth Tufts | FL (-31)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Bajoran (with Klingons) vs Bajoran (with Feds), so no fighting likely. Mogh scored some early points with Parallax and Sarjenka, then a solve of the shared Bajor along with a ROTB brought him to 60. Right after, I solved Khitomer also for 60. Then I retrieved my Devil from the Tent, and destroyed his Treaty. Ken was left in house arrest, which we determined did not mean his minority crews (the Feds, who had no attemptability icons on his side) had to leave the ships, just that they couldn't do much aboard. They certainly couldn't help with mission attempts, which really impeded his efforts to pass the Maglock he'd just encountered at Refuse Immigration. Many Feds did evacuate onto DS9, but not all. After I scored my own ROTB for 10, I was at 70 and in apparent range of a victory. I attempted the shared CNE and hit a Q-Flash, which gave Guilty,Provisionally to stop me from battling, then Fightin'Words to deny me skills because I couldn't battle (and a Penalty Box which I Kevined). After also hitting DNAClues/Hippo, I lacked the cunning to pass Unsci. Ken played another officer to pass Maglock and solve RI, reaching 96 points, and I stopped that crew with Mission Debriefing. Still, he had enough people to make a separate attempt at Relocate Settlers. Those people lacked the skills to solve, but -- get this. He used his house-arrest Miles O'Brien, who couldn't join mission attempts or staff ships, to special-download Near Warp Transport. It played at that location, and beamed two Bajorans into the mission attempt for the solve, and win. |
Ok some weird Baj/Klingon battle thingy he was running faster then I was and I had to hide from him, however Q-Flash fightin' words saved me again I was not able to make it to the mission to solve, sadly he deviled my treaty and I did not have the skills in play with out the feds to solve that one but it gave me an extra turn knowing it was all over momentary I had to go for other missions and after hitting a lucky easy dilemma combination I was able to solve and get the win. |

Closing Thoughts |
Almost won against Ken. (Yeah, he's good.) And didn't win the tournament, and Talos for the 5th time. Both of those would have to wait until later. |
