KlingonRomulanKlim Dokachin Rules Sealed
Introduction
I ran an OTSD sealed tournament, since I scheduled it too soon for people to prepare for a constructed. Three of our regulars couldn't make it, but we got one from RI who is in our area on alternate Wednesdays. Final count was 5 on the day.

Round 1Glenn BFW (+100)
My side: draw, play, and after about 5 turns I started redshirting. I lost Data to Sticky early, and then was stuck behind several wall dilemmas that required an Engineer. Glenn played a ship and maybe another card, and then stopped playing cards and was only drawing. I couldn't figure out why. I theorized what he was preparing for ... STP drop? Anti-Time Anomaly? It turned out to be Red Alert. My Spacedoor was still open, so my next "play" was to close it, and he got the first benefit. This actually delayed me, because at the time I was working on clearing my second mission (one other was cleared except the finall ENG wall, but none were solved), and it was right at one of his outposts, and I worried about leaving them there and having him RA-drop his large hand and battle me. But he ended up playing them all at a different mission in order to start his own attempts, and so I was only delayed. His mega-crew (immune to the Q-Net in my hand) cleared Mineral Survey but lacked any Geo to solve, then some block mission where he also lacked one mission skill. (He had Suna out, but had forgotten to stock Ref/Th this round.) I got another Engineer and broke through those walls (and Galathon passed Fgi Attack with his Greed!), and solved 3 for 95, plus the self-seeded REM Fatigue to win 100-0.

Round 2AresFW (+100)
I played a Klim first turn, and a Q-Net a few turns later to lock his existing people into two missions (though he did have outposts on both sides). I seemed to have only Feds available in the early turns, and so my redshirt of choice this game was Ogawa rather than Varel. She got hit by Data Has Some Issues, which amused me because she was my weakest personnel in play. Later she also got hit by Hippo, and moved away from my missions; I never went back for her. Later, attempting the shared Covert Installation where I had my gender combo, Varel got quarantined by Harlan's Hyper-Aging (along with a male who broke quarantine to follow my Love Interest), which was later cured [5] by Vash beaming down with a Medical Tricorder. I mega-teamed past the Arsenal to solve, my third mission for 90 mission points. My REM Fatigue and that Hyper-Aging got me to 100.

Round 3KlingonRomulanFederationMoFW (+65)
Klim was my first play again, and Q-Net to isolate his first ship (a seeded Husnock), which then destaffed by losing several people in redshirting. My redshirting cleared Plunder Site down to a Microbrain, but I had no Geology, so I sent everyone in my Oberth down towards other missions. (That ship was my spacedoor dl in each game, this time because the Darmok was already in my hand.) I hit Unsci at Botanical and couldn't pass it yet (without losing someone), then tried Dead Planet next door. That had dilemmas I could pass, like MUG, but Morgan now had a Romulan warbird in the vicinity, and I was worried about getting attacked. Meanwhile, I drew and reported Jaron back at Plunder Site, and he cleared the mission, also exposing REM. Morgan flew away, since he now had 2 Dip to pass the Q-Net, and he solved the mission he'd been working on at the beginning of the game. I solved Dead Planet with Data, then flew over to Plunder (now with the Darmok for more range) to solve it with Vash ... and then noticed that even with the REM, I only had 65 points, and the Botanical I'd started earlier was not going to get me to 100. I had to go instead for Impose Order (the other 35, Covert Inst, was duplicated and thus too risky) ... and fortunately it, like another mission before it, had a few mis-seeds in place of planet dilemmas and I solved to win. (He also had 6 planets, but my deck and pool only had 2 space dilemmas.)

Closing Thoughts
Fun ... and my first sealed-tournament win! (There's no achievement for that, though.) Going in, I was worried because I felt like I didn't have good enough cards. But chatting between rounds with Steve (the only one mission stealing), he complained of his skill matrix, and mine was pretty good. Plus, of course, Klim and the advantage of all-planet. Several of the players told me they like sealed, but I'd like to get back to constructed.
