RomulanFederationThe Tomed Incident
Introduction
Been a while since a local tournament, and some of the guys were asking for one. We played at a new location, the lobby of Dogbert's workplace. Small round tables, with enough room for a spaceline and two cores. Kind of. And one person brought sites.

Round 1FerengiLucas ThompsonFL (-65)
Lucas had TNG Fgi, and he was greatly confused by my mission selection. Of course, AmbiTom made sense of it soon enough. Lucas grokked my seeded Commandeer Ship, so when he met Undercover Agent Kell, he expected Cytherians next. That would have been true at a different location, but he instead found Ankari Spirits, which promptly killed his crew of 4. He also found FgiIng, Virus, and Hippo, so we had lots of countdown counters on the table. After failing Med Crisis the first time he hit it (unsurprising), he also failed again because of the luck of the MEDICAL selection, and only passed it on the third try. I solved one mission (my only one of the night) to his three.

Round 2KlingonepinnickML (-20)
I seemed to scare the TNG Klingon deck with my warbirds early on -- they flew around avoiding fights, even cloaking (and I pointed out that Gowron can't LL when cloaked). But really, my ships were looking for LSWOT locations. The only actual fight that happened early was when I beamed a single guy to kill Koroth, who had gone Hippo. I started attempting some space missions, and hit Cytherians -- yeah, on the Future Enterprise. With the help of a Plasma Relay, that got to the spaceline end in two turns. By the time it got there, my Science Vessel was also heading there with a second Cytherians, and Eric was attempting a planet mission nearby, where he lost 9 people to DNP. I attacked him with my Romulans (but he thought I'd have Admiral Riker, and have the Feds join too) hoping to take away enough people so he couldn't pass the dilemmas (specifically, when he was stopped at a boosted HoloRuse). But it was moot, since he had already solved that MED-combo mission, so he MW 35-15.

Round 3BajoranFederationDogbertFL (-100)
I had engine failure in this match. I drew lots of card plays (ships and the like), never drew a Holodeck Door, and didn't draw Ambassador Tomalak until late in the game (at which point I realized that I could have had him a few turns earlier, with Decius+RRD). So no treaty. But I did blow up Dave's Bajoran Freighter with several people aboard. A little after that, I finally attempted a mission, but then his BRC/K7 deck finished a two-mission win (45x2 with AMS, plus Rescue Personnel and Tantalus/Duranja).

Closing Thoughts
Yeah, that didn't work out so well. Perhaps a little more practice with this deck would have helped me.
