FederationTerranDraft Terrans
Introduction
We conducted a block draft by email in the weeks leading up to the tournament. The pool was essentially: all the block sets (not including HF), minus the WC/RC engines, and minus Nors, sites, and tactics. Core cards available to everyone: HF4 and HF6, all the BWs, two treaties (trip and KCA), and Enlistment Drive (to guarantee a MQ mission). In my first pack, I picked dilemmas and an NA, not wanting to get locked into an affiliation that others were also picking. But in the second pack, Lucas passed me the ISS Enterprise, so I went for Terran/Feds.

Round 1DominionFerengiKCAChris MorseFW (+70)View opponent's Report
Chris was new to our group, joining from the 2E group that plays in Boston. He had drafted KCA but no ship, plus some Ferengi and some GQ. His KCA made some attempts at their base, but after I killed Lursa with Fast Ship (a pull from my first pack), he ran into Seismic Quake too many times. FW 100-0.

Round 2BajoranFederationTerranLucas ThompsonFL (-100)View opponent's Report
Lucas seeded the Fed/Baj treaty, and was using Bajoran Engineers to get to the MQ. And he just outpaced me. FL 0-100.

Round 3KlingonFederationGlenn BFW (+65)
Glenn had AQ feds and also a Klingon outpost. And we duplicated 4 missions! I changed up my combos, putting passable (if you know it's there) stuff at two of the shared missions, regular stuff at two others, and a regular amount at his solo missions. He didn't do it the same way, though -- 7 at my solo missions, and still a good number at the shared. He had fewer non-dilemma seeds than me. I drew a lot early, and then went for a solo mission. It took me a few turns, and when I solved it I had used up the range on my Xhosa, but most of my people took the Constitution back to the AQ outpost. Then Glenn finally played his Triple Treaty, erasing his attack restrictions, and brought two ships (one was the USS Defiant) and blew up the Xhosa. My people then beamed to the MQ to do the mission there, which was my other solo. I got stopped by the first dilemma, Unorthodox Preservation, with only one Anth in play. Then Glenn got moving, and attempted our shared Search and Rescue. Unfortunately for him, he didn't know the misseed rule, and the space dilemmas he put under there disqualified him from ever solving the mission. He cleared it out nicely, and flew to the GQ to try the Iconians. I solved the shared one next turn ... and then decided not to go for the unshared mission, since it would only get me to 95. I flew to Chintoka, knowing that my seeds were LOP and Parmach (he won't downolad anything), and hoping that his were again misseeds. At that one they weren't -- he had also sandbagged only some of them -- and although I cleared it, too many people had gotten stopped and I couldn't solve. He didn't quite get through the dilemmas at his mission, and then we both drew out for a 65-0 FW.
