Master Level Fizzbin |
Introduction |
Ever since Maryland Masters was announced back in June, I had a deck that I wanted to build for it. Unfortunately, when I finally got around to building it, it was the week of the event and I came down with something (bubonic plague? Ebola?) That took me out for most of the week, including the Friday warmup event. With no time or energy to finish a new deck, I grabbed my Fizzbin (TOS/Species 8472) deck that I had won a local with a few weeks before and tweaked it based on what I learned playing it and borrowing some tech from Ben Hosp, who, despite going 0-3, had some good ideas. I finally feel a little better on Saturday, so I made the two hour drive north. |

Round 5 | | John Corbett | FL (+100) |
All I can say about this game is ouch! John was running Johannes Klarhauser's worlds deck, and having not faced it before, I wasn't prepared for it. Details to follow. |

Round 6 | | John Paul Veasey | FW (+100) |
Veez was rocking Voyager and like several of my other opponents just wasn't prepared to deal with the 8472 tech. I drew into two Combined attacks and was able to stop several mission attempts with with skill walls while loading up his core with 8472 dilemmas. A nice recovery after my previous game disaster. |
