StarfleetTerran Empire in the Expanse
Introduction
We had a pretty good turnout since Bryan was back home from college, and Dean and Jacob were able to make it. However, the lack of air conditioning and humid, mid 90s weather kind of sucked. We talked about considering a different venue for future events. After being called out on AU Starfleet, I decided to make what I thought could be a competitive deck. It breezed in my first two games, then sputtered a little in the final.

Round 1KlingonBamaFanFW (0)
Matthew was playing Guidance Klingons. I had the Enterprise, Archer, D'Vela, and Spatial Reconfiguration on Navigate Minefield early. I cheated my way through some skills and got that mission and Investigate Anachronism in 3 turns. I even got a free Avenger and Forest for my troubles, thanks to The Edge of Forever. Meanwhile my dilemma pile was causing havoc on his side of the table. He finally completed his first mission, then said "whatever" and came over to Heart of Glory me. It didn't matter too much, and I solved Restore Errant Moon the next turn for the win. FW: 100-35.

Round 2StarfleetBryan KopaskaFW (0)
Bryan was also playing AU Starfleet (but non-Delphic), so tracking his skills was a breeze. On the other side of the table, I walked through a few of his dilemmas with some skill gaining and timely attribute boosting. FW: 100-0. The game ended quick enough that we played a second game in the meantime. It was good to see Bryan.

Round 3Klingonmike gillespieFL (0)
When I saw Mike playing Delta Klingons, I felt pretty good. I had beaten that deck before, and knew my dilemma pile was well-equipped against the (other) Empire. Well, it turned out I was half right. For the most part my dilemma pile did what it needed to do. However, my draw deck just kept barely missing. Navigate Minefield went pretty well, with D'Vela giving some people Honor to get past Temptation; but losing those events ended up being costly. When I went to planets, on back to back turns I was 1-Strength or 1-Anthropology, then 1-Security away from completing Investigate Anachronism. Meanwhile I couldn't draw into Spatial Reconfiguration. After finally heading to Restore Errant Moon, an Agonizing Encounter ended that -- I drew Spatial Reconfiguration the next turn. With the game coming down to the wire, thanks to K'lheyr, Distant Exploration, and Baht Qal's in hand, Mike is setting up for the 2 mission win. With an Engineering PADD (awesome at REM, btw) and Spatial Reconfiguration, I hit my last mission. Clown: Go Away grabbed Brennan Scott, Healing Hand hit D'Vela, and Guess Who's hit Archer. His combo finished with Counterinsurgency Program. Now with Trip, I could have gotten around it and completed. However he was my 3rd Astrometrics (with equipment), and so I would have missed this mission by one skill again. GRR! I finished my turn, with what would have been an auto-complete next turn, and watched Mike finally finish his space mission (for 40+5+5+5=55) points, then walk through my dilemmas at his planet mission for (35+5+5=45) points for the win.
