Introduction |
Since I was going to meet up with TK before the tournament, I had the chance to make a constructed deck that wasn't entirely printable and borrow the non-printables from him. He didn't quite have everything I needed, but the I was able to get the general concept of the deck made. The plan was to use Winn Adami to rig Tongo for Quark and Jadzia, then use Borath and Jem Hadar to mill the opponent and solve two easy strength missions for the win. Well, the former worked magically -- I probably could have easily scored 100 bonus points alone -- but the latter didn't do as well as I had hoped. The high cost Dominion ships and the discarding to rig with Adami meant the deck was slow. And the stat-stick, but otherwise bad Jemmies meant that getting through missions was tough. In hindsight, this deck should have only been MotW and Bajor -- using DS9 personnel to solve missions. Oh well. It didn't do great, but was pretty fun. |

Round 1 | | Charlie Plaine | FL (-60) |
I got Tongo set up early and had 30 points probably 4 turns into the game. That meant Brunt couldn't put an end to my fun. Unfortunately, the printable dilemma pile I played struggled against the three Central Commands and two Telles Charlie used to break me. The game essentially ended when Dal'Rok killed 3 personnel and de-staffed my Dominion Battleship. I guess there are counters for multi-HQs! FL: 100-40. |

Round 2 | | Johnny Holeva | FL (-55) |
Johnny played AU Starfleet, 2 mission win. I couldn't draw my 3rd Tactical Disadvantage or Gorgan when I really needed it and conceded a mission too early. Then I took a trip WNOHGB -- although I've sworn I've been there before -- which more-or-less ended the fun. FL: 100-45 |

Round 3 | | Rogue Shindler | FW (+100) |
Rogue was playing 3 HQs too, but I think my Tongo milling + Dukat disrupted his plans. Add in that his dilemmas whiffed: FW 100-0. |

Round 4 | | Dan Hamman | FW (+45) |
Dan was playing Delphic Starfleet. The play of the game, damn well the tournament, was when Archer excluded everyone from a Tactical Disadvantage kill and M'Pella was hit, but she top-carded a 2 coster -- saving her, overcoming the dilemma, and giving him the mission. A well-timed Secret Identity stopped that Archer non-sense for awhile and his Legacy whiffed when I flipped 3 skill dilemmas. FW: 100-45 (I think). |
