Tournament Report - 2E |

Quintessentially Less Borg |
Introduction |
Tournament occurred a week ago, so the details are foggy. I played a "drive-by assimilation" deck with an ACE dilemma pile. |
Round 1 | | JD_Ashley | FL (-95) |
JD was rocking Cardassians, but I couldn't land a kill for my life. While I sat on WNOHGB he dialed in a 2nd Diplomacy with Premiere Garak to take the mission and ultimately the game -- one-sided -- FL: 0-100. |
Round 2 | | Charlie Plaine | FL (-65) |
Charlie was playing two mission using Assimilate Resistance and the Starfleet shuttle pods for infinite range. It was a neat trick. I struggled solving missions and he was eventually able to withstand my dilemmas to secure the win. FL: 30-100? |

Round 3 | | Thomas Kamiura | FW (+60) |
TK was playing Guinan + Inyo. He did his tricks, but in doing so gave me a few extra points I was able to use to my advantage. In the only game where I managed to assimilate enough people for it to matter, I dropped double One With the Borg to get the two mission win. FW:100-65? |
Round 4 | | Johnny Holeva | FW (+35) |
Johnny was playing a deck very similar to JD's, but this time the kills were in my favor. Meanwhile I had more success against dilemmas as I beat a WNOHGB at Assimilate Resistance. From there on it was some more calculated moves as I eventually stripped is Diplomacy for Security Briefing and was able to Interlink my deck away and return all I needed with 3 of 9 to grab the win. FW:100-65. |

Closing Thoughts |
Interesting deck. I think ACE was a bad choice as it didn't seem like the draw deck supported it enough. I have some ideas to improve it in the future. I think a better way to play it is go verb-light, then whenever you are comfortable with what you have in play, Interlink your deck away and just grab the needed verbs from the discard pile the rest of the game. I'll have to test it out. |
