TNGSlipstream Cadesticles for regional
Introduction
Regionals 2019! Lower attendance than last year but I'm pleased to say that the player skill and preparedness has upped dramatically so this was quite a competitive event. I went with Cadets + Raise the Stakes or Tallera or Guinan to solve Practice Orbital Maneuvers for 50. Since it's slipstream, that's enough :). With Nog to scout the opponent's dilemmas and self-replicating roadblock to handle whatever I see (I expected Chula).

Round 1TNGowenswartFW (+50)
I drew SRR early but I only saw one Chula dilemma when I played Nog so I assumed it wasn't a Chula pile. Turns out it was, and he got The Game down on my first turn. That made things pretty even, we traded stops until he chose to use Dead Weight as a filter instead of Personal Duty. Personal Duty would've stopped everyone, Dead Weight got almost no-one. That was enough to go from 0 to 50 after just 15 minutes.

Round 2BorgNick KotzeFW (+50)
Nick was playing the Borg virtual starter, so not super optimised for warp speed. That did make it hard to know what to pick with Self-Replicating Roadblock (no dependency on any one dilemma), but otherwise it was difficult for him to keep pace with cadets.

Round 3Terok NorAcuteapathyFL (-45)
I can't remember much. I think this was the game where on my final turn I wanted to use Nog and SRR for what I thought would be a good chance of scoring the 50 but I had already spent one or two counters. Meanwhile Ryan had all the Kressari pieces in place for the 50.

Round 4RomulanNick GorvenTT (0)
Over the whole day Nick had great success blanking everyone with his assassins and Pattern Loss / Bread and Circuses, but also a hard time completing the wariness puzzle. Imperial Entanglements was hindered at first because one assassin was the only senator he drew for PnP, and the other went onto Energize. He might have snuck a mod win had PnP not kept hitting my personnel, until he gave up on giving me cards.

Round 5ByeBY (0)
Everyone played everyone and I took the bye last because I wanted the time to sort out the prizes. Thanks to leftover regional prizes from last year and many extra ambassador foils, I was able to give out some really nice looking cards (Baran, NA Seven, Borg Queen, etc.)

Closing Thoughts
A good morning of Trek! The beauty of slipstream is starting at 10 and playing 5 rounds before lunch :).
