The Sexus |
Introduction |
God watches everyone, especially Dr. Tolian Soren when he has 'alone time' with his naughty Klingon magazine featuring Lursa and Be'tor as the cover 'models'. Soren decided that he had enough and wanted some privacy with his mag. So he decides to contact the Duras Sisters and ask for their help to get him to 'The Sexus'; a place where God cannot see him... |
|
Round 1 | | Christopher Dryer | FW (+65) |
Chris and his son came all the way from America, conveniently coinciding with this regional event. He was playing TNG Ferengi with only 6 seed cards, meaning I had 5 Dilemmas each under my target missions. I begun busting through them, encountering all sorts of strange combos that delayed my completing the first mission. Chris went straight for space and encountered my Gomtuu. He began rebuilding his forces while I complete my first mission and bagged my Tri Weapon, immediatly going for Veridian III. Chris finally managed to bust through his first space mission but by that time I had managed to easily pass Veridian IIIs dilemmas and made Soren 'enter' The Sexus. |

Round 2 | | Unjustly Banned | FW (+100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Can't remember the last game we played but James is always a good laugh to play against. He was TNG Feds. I decided to go straight for my first mission, encountering the first Dilemma and anticipating the combo. I spent turn 2-3 completing it while James was trying to control a rather randy Bev on his planet. Unfortunatly James' first planet attempt resulted in sheer sexual depravity as an orgy began to cover the planet. On Turn 4 I went for the money shot and completed Veridian III with ease. Soren can't get enough of those Klingon boobies. |
Niall was playing an Illegitimate Leader of the Empire TNG Klingon two-mission win deck. It was superb. He was out attempting on turn one and never looked back. Sadly for me, he blew through my dilemma combos. Even Barash doubling Hologram Ruse didn't help. Me giving Niall points with Parallax Arguers + two missions + mission specialists + some other card giving Niall points meant that the game was over in four turns. I did manage one attempt, and Beverly Crusher ran off with a Male Love Interest. Again. Parallel Romance then stopped another female before Matriarchal Society stopped me for good. If I had gotten another turn, Guinan was going to help me overcome Matriarchal Society and complete my first mission. Sadly, she never got the chance.

Round 3 | | Danny Nuttall | FL (-70)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
My 'arch enemy' in the UK was going to be my greatest challenge (He is the world no. 2 for a reason) Danny correctly anticipated which mission i'd go for first and placed a wall / point loss / Dead End their, delaying me for a very important 2 turns. i tried the other mission where my giant space jizz machine was and encountered God and a Love Scow. By the time I had Veridian III on my sights, Danny had busted through my combos with ease and got the win. Well done again good sir and congrats on the raings gain :) |
The man. The legend. The heart and soul of 1e in the UK.
I was really worried about this round. Matthew Ting had changed his Road to Worlds prediction from me to Niall after playtesting against (quote) 'Niall's monstrosity of a deck'. I then saw Niall wondering around 20 minutes into round 2 as he had apparently made light work of James Hoskin (a turn *4* win!!!).
I won the coin toss (phew) and as we lined up I managed to use Bajor to separate Niall's two outpost missions from the main planet missions I could identify. This would hopefully make him a little less capable of getting across the spaceline. I then made some inspired seeding decisions with dilemmas, blocking off one artifact with Dead End and holding off a swarm of treacherous Klingons from getting their hands on the other with Firestorm/ITPM.
Meanwhile, my opening hand had been great and I managed to splat and draw really well for the first few turns. My resistance crew just walked through some combos (great skill set) and I was making great strides to pass several dilemmas (thanks to Dyson Sphere). Gomtuu caused me some trouble at a space mission, but by then I was ready to Ops download a dirty vedek on my following turn and finish that off with aplomb. 3 Bajor missions later and I was sat at 100, with Niall recovering from a -8 loss to THTF to finish on 27.

Round 4 | | Stuart Marsh | ML (-10)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
A VERY VERY close game. Stu was playing a 'Stu Deck' where he will 'intefere' with your deck in a rather inappropriate manner.... This time it was a Cardie Capture deck using 3 seeded captures and hostage trade, while Nazi Kirk on his ISS picked Exobiology off with the Tantalus Field, I managed to get a mission in early but losing a lot of b'sombes meant I couldn't get past Zaldan on Veridian III. Spending much of the game running, he decided to try for a mission with mintes to spare while gaining points from Lursa and Be'tor, tied up at his labour camp (Soren told me he wished he was there) Timed win for Stu. I'll need to re-adjust my 'Stu Side Deck' for when we next meet :D |
He tasks me, he tasks me! Niall was playing Illegitimate TNG Klingons. I managed to get set up near his outpost as he piled down Klingons for free. I wnet 2nd but the extra Q the Ref allowed me to get out the ISS Enterprise and Spock and move into the Apha Quadrant. Niall got on with the mission at his Outpost, and DOH I had messed up my combo and seeded only Microbrain and Unscientific method! In space no one can here you DOH! He quickly solved for 40 and gained a Trilithium Device. Meanwhile at the far end of the space line 8 missions away the ISS Enterprise chugged along. I moved my stolen attack ship into place and beamed over to his Outpost to Capture three people. Any idea of an away team battle ended when he DL Lursa with B'tor, so I retreated back to my ship and then pulled a Hostage trade to get Lursa and B'tor as captives (hello girls, grrrr) along with another happy Illegitimate Klingon with exobiology. Niall made a move on the Avert Solar Implosion and attempted with redirect energy ribbon. He stalled though on Microbrain/Zaldan and lost valued diplomacy. Before the fleet could arrive, some Parallax Arguers though it wasn't cool so dropped a Q net between Our outpostsi! The ISS enterprise finally arrived and allowed me to surgically remove exobiology. With Niall struggling to make progress an 15 minutes left I made a dash back to my intercept Marquis and put the Sisters of Duras to work in my Labor Camp. With time rapidly counting down I hit The Arsenal: Separated and then The Cloud and was stopped for two turns, but I managed to get Ocett to Dig up a Make it so and unstop Evek and the Vetar and complete for 30 on the last turn along with 20 points of Labour camp. MW 50-40. |

Closing Thoughts |
This deck was a beast in testing, and also in the first two games. i'm happy I got a turn 4 win as I'm sure thats quite rare. I wouldn't change this deck at all, I'm quite happy the way it is. A huge thanks to all who helped play test with me, The Hoskins for letting me stay at theirs and, of course, my main man Danny, who (despite losing to him all the time) helps me improve my game constantly and keeps me on my toes. Great seeing everyone again. |
