Tournament Report - 2E Standard
2012-02-26 - 12:00 PM
Introduction
I came into this tourney feeling pretty eh. My DS9-Earth deck is something I put together as a first run. I don't think it did too bad all things considered. My downfall was a combination of stupid play on my part and great gameplay by my opponents. All of my games went to time and were rather close. I consider that a great victory in itself and in perfecting this deck.

Round 1DS9-EarthJon CarterFL (-20)View opponent's Report
This was Jon's first rodeo for competitive 2E Trek. Being new to the scene myself, I think I knew how he felt. He did incredibly well. He ran a cadet deck and used Kirk to block key dilemmas. He went second, and although we timed, got the full win.

Round 2MaquisNon-AlignedMaggie GeppertFL (-50)
Round Two against Maggie started great. I won the first turn! Maggie was running a Photons Be Free style "Maquis" Hologram Deck. She played it perfectly. The only chance I had to slow her was my dilemma pile, but she was using Not Easily Destroyed to prevent anything but stops. Even then, Cluttering Irrelivancies was there to ruin the day. I managed to get this one to time, but she went second and won on her turn.

Round 3TNGEric BiecheFL (-15)
I've played Eric a few times before. He usually plays an EVIL Borg deck. He was running a TNG deck this time around using the Enterprises for extra points and an obvious two mission win attempt. I won the first turn, and was off to the races. I was up 85-0 at one point almost walking through the early dilemmas. I couldn't get the extra points from my Enterprise A to get a two mission win, and that third mission was the killer. By this time, Eric was decked trying to get his Enterprises out as I Grav Plated his download events. Eric then came back in a BIG way. As we came to time, I got stopped on my mission. Eric attempted with just enough people to prevent facing dilemmas and get the full win on his last turn. Although I lost, I forced Eric to Hard Time himself by using Repressed Message. I may not get tournament victory points, but I sure as heck deserve some laughs and joshing rights!
