Aah, the Dilemmas! |
Introduction |
great gig, awesome venue, best competition in the world. |
|
Round 1 | | Maggie Geppert | FW (+100) |
one of the nicest games i ever played. maggie remains a fierce competitor with that dilemma pile of hers. |

early solve at POM gave me the advantage. all i gotta say casey is this - EZRI! |
Matt's a great guy to play against, lots of friendly talk and play. I totally botched a dilemma play on his Practice Orbital Maneuvers which gave him a very quick lead, all thanks to Semi-Evil Ezri. Who would come back again to haunt me on an Infinite Diversity play as well. I was glad to be able to get at least a mission complete, great times. |

met a new friend this game. josh wins the award for most non-ACE consumes ever! |
My 2nd World Champ to face today. Frid was playing a solid Cadet Science deck. At POM, I do manage to stop him a couple times, then forget 1 personnel in his away team and he solves the mission. I get my stuff going and get stopped at AR. He goes to Geo Survey and starts attempting. I kill some people and stop him (no ACE's). I go over assimilate some other people. He attempts again (I stop some people, still no ACE's). I go back for AR and get stopped. He sends another team (I uninvited for A Royal Hunt) and stop the first team, but the second solves. I have between 15-17 dilemmas under the mission and not one was a consumed ACE (still 3 in the pile). He heads for Avert Danger and I finally catch an ACE. At this point, he has a fairly small draw deck (less than 6 card-ish) and he is fairly low on Science (Data, Gideon and a Davies are in the discard pile). I come up a couple attribute points short on solving AR and the next turn he draws and plays the last 2 Davies and solves for the win. Amazing game and great conversation the entire time. |

Round 4 | | Nat Kirton | FL (+25) |
nat's setup was awesome, i made a bad call on secret ID and i lose a close one against an old friend - congrats on the win, mr jeezy! |

Round 5 | | Mike Harrington | MW (-15) |
attempted our space missions for about half the game! my buddy mike remains one of the classiest players in the game. only in MN can you get world champ vs. world champ on a regular basis. like i told harrington in our game during an "epic" racial tension resolution, it's why i still play this game on occasion. thanks, dude! |
