Restore Pegasus 2.0 |
Introduction |
Let me begin by stating that I brought a needle to a gun fight. That's how it felt going up against some great players with some great, albeit frustrating decks. All in all, my dilemma deck improved a bit (I dropped a couple cards) and I tweaked my Pegasus deck a bit more. I will be tweaking it a bit more again. Thank you to those who gave me some ideas for improving it. Some excellent prizes and an adorable Tribbles tournament followed my horrible showing this afternoon's round-robin-style tournament. |

Round 1 | | Thomas Kamiura | FL (0) |
Thomas began my greasing me up for a tournament shut-down by playing a speedy Ruling Council deck. How speedy? My dilemmas were so terrible during his first attempt at [Survey New World] that he completed it. Embarassing. What's worse is the three consecutive Ruling Councils he played afterward. I fully expected and certainly got visited by his "Dignitaries and Witnesses" dilemma, the same one that kicked my rank-lacking Non-Aligned all over the Alpha Quadrant. I was able to stall him a few times at his space mission, but in the end, I was ruled by his Terok Nor folk. |

Round 2 | | Matt Kirk | FL (0) |
Matt got sloppy seconds by assimilating and blowing up two crews in space. My "Back to Basics" helped a little, but to put things into perspective, Matt had a choice of THREE fancy and expensive Vulcans to assimilate: Syrran of Borg is a nice Dissident. My resistance was futile. |

Round 3 | | Carlos Maya | ML (0) |
By the time Carlos got to me, I was worn down. I was happy to play my all-Non-Aligned deck against his all Non-Aligned deck, with each of us playing different strategies (his was a nice Morn at the Wormhole/Thief combo). This was probably my least stressful game, but still a challenging one when I had to face his post-errata Legacy pile (it did its job). I took solice knowing that we had a good time and I kept a full win from him. |

Round 4 | | Chris Donati | ML (0)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Chris played Maquis. I love 'em! He also played a Tragic Turn kill pile. Real Maquis players don't need TT. Because I felt comfortable enough playing against my favorite affiliation I knew how to best play my dilemmas and withstand the inevitable tidal wave that is TT/Biogenic Weapon. I needed a rape kit from an Emergency Room when it was all over. Chris didn't even offer to pay for my cab ride home. Regardless, I stalled him enough so that we timed out and I was able to solve a one attempt at [Investigate Alien Probe]. Irony. My dilemma pile safely prevented Chris from a full sweep of "Full Win" at the tournament, so I felt good. |
Joel was running his non-aligned deck, or as he puts it, he "brought a needle to a gun fight." Joel's dilemma pile gave me fits, while mine did the same. I think I killed two seperate crews, but I just could not get the FW in time. Props to Joel for making this very unique deck and being such a good sport of me bringing the serious deck. |

Round 5 | | Bye | BY (0) |
I had the last bye. I wept over the phone to my girlfriend about my poor showing this tournament. She offered to learn how to play 2E. I'm not sure if I felt better or worse after that... |
