Seven Year Itch 2.0 |
Introduction |
Due to some player scheduling conflicts, my first tour of duty as a tournament director was held two days early. It was fun though and we had a nice relaxed time after the whirlwind weeks of big events and Regional season this year. I did not have enough time this week to build a new deck, so I instead updated my last deck ("Seven Year Itch") and utilized a new minimum-sized dilemma deck... which was completely inappropriate for the type of deck I played. |

Round 1 | | Chris Donati | FL (-45)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Chris won this game handily, but I was pleased to play against his 2011 Contenentals deck. I knew what to expect, as I had played against some variations of the Inyo download mechanic, but my own deck was slow going, and my dilemma pile was poorly matched. Chris also earned himself the "Quote of the Tourney" during Round 3 vs. Ish. |
What hope does TNG have against TNG AND DS9?!?!?! None...I got the combo and he was playing what I call TNG speedy and safe. It was a quick TNG deck but with more stability which slows it down but makes it more consistent. His ACE Dilemma pile was cute. It hated on the skills required for Microbrain and then it played Microbrain (surprise!). In the end my deck was geared for anti-kill so we were able to keep the crew together and chew through his dilemma pile. |

Round 2 | | SethMendoza | FW (+10) |
Ismael (Ish) is developing his Voyager play style quite well and I was pleased to see that he and I went to the wire in our game. My dilemma pile handed him two early missions before I had even began to attempt my own, but I was able to catch up due to some ideal personnel kills (hooray for my own knowledge of Voyager crew and skill sets). A great game and I look forward to more! |

Round 3 | | Carlos Maya | FL (-60) |
Carlos brought a new deck for me to see. I'd seen flashes of it before, but his was far more streamlined. Once again, my dilemma pile was ill matched and I struggled early to get my mission attempts going. Playing against Carlos makes me push myself and I love the challenge, even when I'm staring defeat in the face. Full loss for me, haha, and my dilemma pile was pretty much depleated! |
