Introduction |
Standard 2E tournament held on a cloudy Santa Barbara day. VP foils arrived in the mail just as I was leaving the house, so I was able to provided extra prizes to the tournament attendees. While I was playing a deck designed for the Bajoran player achievement, it wasn't until afterward that I realized I would not qualify due to the multi-HQ set-up with multiple DS9 Bajorans in the deck. Boo. Players had a good time and a fun Tribbles tournament was held immediately after. |

Round 1 | | SethMendoza | MW (+45) |
Ismael is improving with his Voyager deck, but his real strength is using his dilemma deck. It has a tendency to wreck my mission attempts. We eventually went to time, but I had a really great time racing him in mission attempts. We need to get him playing another affiliation though... diversify! |

Round 2 | | Chris Donati | FL (-60)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Donati brought his speedy solver. I hate "At What Cost?" I was pleased with my ability to get several mission attempts out before his missions were completed en masse. |
Joel was trying his hand with the Bajorans. I came out of the gate pretty quick and got my first mission which allowed me to At What Cost a couple times to gain a huge advantage. The problem with those high cost Bajorans is when you bounce or kill them it can be hard to get back online with them quickly. Joel did have the honor of being my only opponent to solve a mission for the day. |

Round 3 | | Thomas Kamiura | ML (-30) |
TK brought his TOS "ship denial" deck again. I was prepared for it, however, I was NOT prepared for drawing three ships in a row (horrible shuffling, ugh) during my first mission attempt and getting wrecked by Dreamer and the Dream. Yeah. The game was pretty much over at that point, with Kruge and pals blowing up my 4th (and later "5th") ship. A nice Ranjen Koral retrieval of a ship bought me another couple of mission attempts, but Krudge stole my "5th" ship. Krudge is an undercosted card is frustrating in that sense. Grr. My dilemma pile helped the game go to time and I was able to stave off a full loss. |
