KlingonFederationReal Smart, Frank... Way to Work it Through
Introduction
Despite playing in this month's 2E Online League event, I decided to participate in the online OTSD Mission to Talos IV gig in tandem since it is easily the 1E format with which I am most familiar. I also earned a couple of achievements for my troubles, simply by adding the Fek'lher and taking out two of my crapiest dilemmas.

Round 1KlingonRomulanFederationMeinhard S. RohrFW (+70)
Showtime and I each dropped Static Warp Bubble's on the other early, and combined with duplicate missions we both played pretty cautiously throughout. After stealing his Test Propulsion Systems mid-game I eventually explored some Interstellar Matter and a Black Cluster for the win. FW 100-30.

Round 2KlingonFederationRem BoonFL (-70)
The Blue Meanie had in essence a constructed deck, nabbing both a Barclay's Disease and a Borg Ship to go with his Cryosatellite. Unsurprisingly, the former wiped out my entire crew when it was combined with a Hippocratic Oath, and from that point on I just watched him cruise to victory in this cordial affair. FL 100-30.

Round 3KlingonRomulanJeremy HuthFW (+100)
Hardcore had a sealed build that significantly suffered from a lack of space dilemmas, meaning nearly all my missions were wide open or minimally guarded. Instead of wasting resources trying to steal his, I instead just blitzed through mine in fairly short order after locking him down with a Q-Net. FW 100-0.

Round 4Kenneth TuftsFL (-35)View opponent's Report
The Toast of the Coast was utilizing all space missions, and in this '98 Worlds rematch used his broader understanding of 1E's nuances to his advantage. Despite having only 12 of them, my dilemmas hung him up long enough to earn an attempt for the win, but playing scared instead of going balls out cost me the game. FL 100-65.

Closing Thoughts
Running either all space or all planet missions remains one of the most powerful strategies in this format. Even if you can't solve them all, which I couldn't, you still put a tremendous amount of pressure on your opponent to correctly guess which missions you will do and which ones you won't during the seed phase.
