When They Mix the Sexuality and the Violence... I Like it |
Introduction |
Intent on conquering yet another restricted card pool format, I spent the weeks leading up to 'Trek Bowl refining a Terok Nor build that, on paper, had an answer for every deck / dilemma I would likely encounter. In the end, the results perfectly mirrored my expectations, as the Alliance blanked the field in a winning effort. |
|
Round 1 | | Ben Johnson | FW (+50) |
Mankind was experimenting with Romulan, but was tripped up in space by Personal Duty and Hard Time in his lone endeavor. Dukat and friends then hit up Deliver Prisoners where I cracked an attempted drop stop with Legacy, and three Ruling Council's later the game was over in under 7 minutes. FW 50-0. |

Round 2 | | Steve Nelson | FW (+50) |
The Full Nelson was schooling me on Bajorans, but was forced into attempting his backup mission due to skill gaps. He held me at bay in both my first and second attempts on planet, but the third time proved to be the charm thanks to Odo's bonus points and a Ruling Council unstop. FW 50-0.

Round 3 | | Barry Windschitl | FW (+50)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
The Genius was captaining new TNG, but lost one of his +5 engines early thanks to a second turn Davin. Without Odo or Dukat I was forced to attempt more cautiously than I would have otherwise, but eventually I smashed through when a Healing Hand whiffed with the game on the line. FW 50-0. |
The typical (at the time) Terok Nor score-one-mission-and-play-three-Ruling-Councils deck was too fast for me to get my mission and weenie-stops. |

Closing Thoughts |
Considering our first Slipstream event lasted all of 45 minutes, I can't help but reminisce about the Premiere days when the majority of games finished in a half hour or less. Thankfully, we'll get to revisit that golden age next month at The Original Champion's Challenge, with hopefully another Slipstream gig just over the horizon. |
