Only the Captain Gets to Honk the Horn... |
Introduction |
Having played just one game with Starfleet at King of the Ring and noting that I needed one more usage for the regular achievement, I elected to raise the 'Fleet at December to Dismember. While the myriad of built-in tricks caught all of my opponents off guard, ultimately as pilot I failed to hold up my end of the bargain. |
|
Round 1 | | Ben Johnson | FW (+100) |
Mankind was administering Romulan, but only got in one attempt at space due to ship struggles. Without aSfSE in play early, I simply barreled through Eliminate Sphere Network before hitting two AWC?'s en route to a displaced descendant fueled win at the ironically named Investigate Anachronism. FW 100-0. |

|
Round 2 | | Mike Harrington | FL (-55) |
The Natural was experimenting with Dominion infiltration, but struggled to contain the trio of Jonathan, Karyn, and Lorian. Despite AWC?'s and Shran playing hide and seek, a mod-win was in sight until I threw it away by forgetting to hit Misdirection with a Lustful Distraction prior to my final attempt at the wire. FL 100-45. |

Round 3 | | Steve Nelson | FW (+70) |
The Full Nelson was utilizing his standby Romulan design, but like Mankind had trouble drawing into a ship. Despite giving up an easy space mission to the Stooges and Power Shift, captain Archer led the way through what was a largely ineffective Unfair Comparison pile while Samuels barfed out reinforcements. FW 100-30. |

Closing Thoughts |
For whatever reason, Starfleet has completely fallen off the radar in greater MN Land and as a result players have reverted back to old habits when it comes to dilemma pile construction. With non-skill random stops and cost based hate still prevalent, it's surprising that so few are electing to go against the grain at present. |
