Seeing as I only needed one more gig with Klingons to become Chancellor, I quickly reworked my latest version of K.Ri.S. and threw my sword into the ring. Despite near perfect dilemma play on his part, Relentless, Bridge Officer's Test, and Riker combined to fuel one-attempt solves at each mission in this light speed encounter. FW 100-0. Round 2 Oliver Thust FW (+100) The Outlaw was testing a DS9 Extreme Measures based design, but didn't have enough time to set up shop as I blitzed through 'Probe on turn 5. Despite taking a pair of Legacy chair shots during the match, I blocked the third by flipping 3 skill dilemmas to earn a quick count win over my favorite overseas rival. FW 100-0. Round 3 Michael Van Breemen FL (-45)View opponent's ReportView original Report The People's Champ was again kicking it with his kill pile, and kept me short on mission skills thanks to McCoy, NesEx, and A.C.E. While his Treachery personnel pulled a disappearing act at Track Survivors, my Security played hide and seek at 'Priz and the game eventually fell his way via double teams in space. FL 100-55. He was playing his typical Klingon Riker deck which was having a hard time with my dilemma pile. A lucky Overburdened consume of ACE was helpful as was evil McCoy taking out two of his Ro'Suv's, keeping him woefully low in Transporters for Rescue Prisoners. Despite me forgetting about Annorax boosting the Defiant's weapons to get around a Gomtuu-damaged Outclassed, I was able to get through my space mission for the win. Closing Thoughts Earning both the play 50 and defeat 50 opponent achievements simultaneously is quite a testament to my self-motivated tenacity. With victories spanning both editions and multiple formats, getting there required that I maintain an elite level of consistency throughout and stay hungry for nearly a year, regardless of the stakes.
