Tournament Report - 1E - Online Event (Mission to Talos IV) |

We Gotta Keep Our Composure... We've Come too Far! |
Introduction |
With only one other online commitment during the month of November, I jumped in to a Mission to Talos IV gig in the hopes of chasing down the elusive Talos IV victor achievement. While I felt my OTSD pool was decent, ultimately it didn't quite measure up in a field that proved to be littered with dilemmas. |
|
Round 1 | | Michael Moskop | FW (+10) |
Mr. Monday Night was running with the tri-treaty, but lost Sela to an Armus: Sticky Situation at Establish Relations early and was locked down by Q-Net late. Despite my timid approach, I eventually forced my way through Investigate Incursion to notch the victory in this laugh filled affair. FW 100-90. |

Round 2 | | Michael Van Breemen | FL (-25)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
The People's Champ was utilizing battle, and nuked a solid crew of mine mid-game after I tripped over a Nanites while expecting to encounter misseeds. With a pair of Q-Nets ushering us into solitaire mode, a lack of Diplomacy left me unable to solve my planet mission before the inevitable double deck out. FL 80-55. |
He's not rocking the Triple Treaty. Turning point was when he went to a space mission and got damaged by Nanites, followed by me blowing up his ship thanks to a Klag attack. He played Q-Net so I play Wormhole/STP to get around the Net. I get two missions solved but they're trapped by the second Q-Net. Thankfully Kris couldn't solve enough missions before we deck out (double Armus: Sticky Situation after getting his only Diplomacy sent away by a Male's Love Interest hurt a lot.) |

Round 3 | | Johannes Klarhauser | FL (-35) |
The Kaiser was also angling on stealing missions, but instead had Explore Interstellar Matter stolen before clearing out my copy of Investigate Incursion and encountering his own misseed. However, absent both Pardek and / or a copy of Kevin Uxbridge, I never made it over there to mop up the mission and the game. FL 100-65. |
|
|
Round 4 | | Derrick Marsh | FW (+50) |
The Dream Machine was also working a triple treaty concoction, and thus had two space missions swiped before he could really get rolling. While he eventually knocked down two missions himself, I churned out a win at his Excavation thanks to Humuhumunukunukuapua'a and a boat load of Youth. FW 100-50. |

Closing Thoughts |
All space or all planet designs unsurprisingly reigned supreme in this event, whereas I lacked both the mission quality and the dilemma quantity to field a similar build. Still, OTSD tournaments have and always will be a blast regardless of the end result, and this one was no exception. |
