I Actually Gave This to You... For Your Wedding |
Introduction |
Encouraged by success last year in both local and online iterations of Voyager Warp Speed tournaments, I jumped into this gig with the hopes of finally earning the elusive Talos IV victor achievement. However, my draw deck proved uncooperative in the final match and I ended up with yet another second place finish. |
|
Round 1 | | Rem Boon | FW (+25) |
The Blue Meanie was angling on abusing a seeded Kazon Warship, but was held in check by my landed Kazon Shuttle and a pair of Implication's. In what boiled down to a space race, Valek and Paxim cleared a Gravimetric Distortion at Answer Distress Signal to nail down the win. FW 65-40. |

Round 2 | | bunz | FW (+55) |
The Blueprint was kicking it with Federation, but unfortunately had no answer for an early Macrovirus. Despite hitting a rare dilemma myself, the difficult requirements on Twisted kept him penned in long enough for me to earn the shutout at Stop Orbital Bombardment. FW 55-0. |

Round 3 | | Jon Carter | FW (+35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Dr. Death was working Vidiian, but missed out on an opportunity to destroy my ship due to a lack of Leadership at our game's first inflection point. With both draw decks exhausted, his A-Team got tagged with The Phage shortly before I cleared an Assassin's Blade in space to steal one at the wire. FW 65-30. |
He wins the toss
I clear down to a twistec but am, bstuck
I screw up blowing up his ship (forget a second leader.
He solve planet
I then mess up solving my planet (forgetting a twisted is under)
Could have likely cleard out everythin
I forget about phage it cost me the win
And nets me at best a true tie
Three mistakes cost me this game.
HE has enough to solve and that is the gameā¦

Round 4 | | Matthew Ting | FL (-70) |
Mean Streak was also playing Kazon, and eliminated the threat posed by Twisted thanks to an early Lower Decks. Absent the free plays from Jabin and the Anthropology to pass Aggressive Behavior, this title fight was decidedly one sided. FL 70-0. |

Closing Thoughts |
Even with a better start in round four, I am unsure the result would have changed against a World Class opponent such as the now two time defending Voyager Warp Speed champ. With Continentals rapidly approaching, my current goal is to soak up as much knowledge as I can from the 1E elite to be better prepared next time. |
