Federation...You Sure You're Ok With This, Blue?
Introduction
GenCon 2000 plus 14 officially kicked off with a rainbow sealed event off-site inside the spacious confines of the local Granite City. Huge props to Die Hard for providing all the product at such a steep discount, and to The Chairman for working his magic to locate a venue at the last minute.

Round 1Chris LobbanFW (+65)
Codebreaker was engineering a Klingon based concoction, but had no answer for an early theft of Historical Research. While he built up forces to try and Q-Bypass on the ground, I casually revealed my Writ of Accountability before waltzing through Impose Order for the win in this laugh filled affair. FW 100-35.

Round 2John KyleFW (+100)
The Silence Behind the Violence was packing Federation, and spent the majority of the game at his Neutral Outpost as I methodically churned through dilemmas at Explore Dyson Sphere and Mineral Survey. Once he cleared out Investigate Incursion, I swooped in for the mission steal to secure the shutout. FW 100-0.

Round 3Ryan SuttonFL (-70)
Superfly was utilizing Non-Aligned, and penned me in to a small section of the space line thanks to conjoined copies of Test Propulsion Systems and a heavily armored Combat Vessel. While my dilemmas held him off for nearly the entire time limit, I was ultimately undone by The Stone of Gol, Data, and Tuvok. FL 100-30.

Closing Thoughts
True to the underlying theme of the long weekend, this gig was much more about opening packs and rekindling old friendships than it was about victories and defeats. And while my two full wins landed me in second place on the night, ultimately my First Edition collection was the biggest winner.
