If We Burn... You Burn with Us |
Introduction |
Intent on chasing down the elusive play 10 and win 5 medals for TNG themed builds, I pulled my Romulan Cybernetics deck out of mothballs for Act 2 of Survivor Series at FFG. In winning despite numerous skill shortages, the androids and I inched ever closer to bagging both of those highly coveted achievements. |

Round 1 | | Justin Kaufman | FW (+100) |
Crimson was rocking First Contact Feds, but was noticeably behind thanks to a pair of early bad probes at Visit Cochrane Memorial. Once the majority of his forces fell victim to The Cloud and a battle involving the Terix, the remainder of the match was largely academic. FW 100-0. |

Round 2 | | Barry Windschitl | FW (+20)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
The Genius was kicking it with Kazon, but was significantly hampered by General Quarters and You Are a Monument. Despite getting bogged down digging for the Diplomacy to pass a Gomtuu Shockwave, In the Zone held him at bay long enough for me to wrap up the win at Amnesty Talks. FW 100-80. |
Me against the Old Pro (in Any Edition), that won't end up too well. He damaged my ships repeatedly, and used masterfully put-together dilemma combos to hold me back, while he moved the chess pieces the right ways to snag victory from me. I also made the "1E returnee/ Rookie" mistake of seeding part of my Ferengi Ingenuity/ Dejaren combo backwards, so he essentially got that mission as a free-bee. |
|
Round 3 | | Nat Kirton | FW (+15) |
The Beast from the East was co-chairing Hirogen, but suffered greatly from my intimate knowledge of his dilemma combos. With missions being solved in rapid succession on both sides, a Cytherians at Investigate Quantum Singularity stalled him out and my treacherous brood claimed victory oncemore. FW 100-85. |

Closing Thoughts |
While expecting to return to my battle roots in this event, instead my mission solving capabilities took center stage as I was paired up with two Delta Quadrant opponents. And although my PAQ era personnel left much to be desired at times, a trio of powerful Referee cards kept me in both matches. |
