Introduction |
Round 2 of the league kick off so I went with an old build and new set of dilemmas. |
|
Round 1 | | James Heaney | FW (+65)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Heavy Metal was trying out a Movie Era treaty deck, but got stuck behind a Dead End and a FLI / RAGS early. Clearing Exact Change in one shot without even trying was stupidly lucky, and the rest of the match pretty much fell the same way. FW 100-35. |
Neither Kris nor I had played in months, so we had to get the rust off our brains in the first few minutes. Given that, our play on both sides of the table was pretty near flawless. He was running his familiar Klingons, but with a strong solver focus -- no Tactics. I didn't have much range with my dudes, and my missions were a bit far away, span-wise, so I was counting on stealing Pegasus Search, but forgot that HQ: Defensive Measures is a thing and triggered it late in the game. Though prepared to take advantage as soon as it ticked down, Kris solved his second mission just before my window of opportunity opened. Good game overall; not unhappy with how my deck performed, and of course Kris is always a pleasure to play. First time I've seen Villagers with Torches used in ages! |

Round 2 | | Robert Petersen | FW (+78) |
The Prodigy was kicking it with Ferengi, and drew like crazy even though the spaceline was giving him range issues. Four dilemmas under each mission meant I was slow going at Distress Mission and Pegasus Search, but I eventually dodged Horta and Emergent Lifeform to win it. FW 100-22. |

Round 3 | | Justin Kaufman | FW (+71) |
Crimson was co-chairing TNG Klingons, but in lost a ship and all hands including Lursa & B'Etor to a ship battle fittingly involving Duras early on. While mission specialist deaths and Altonian Brainteaser had me headed for a 3-mission win, I nailed down the victory shortly after he finally got on the board. FW 100-39. |

Closing Thoughts |
Nice to knock out another set of achievements while trying a few of the new dilemmas even if I didn't find an QI's to test against. With great games and classy opponents everywhere, I don't foresee my interest in 1E dying down any time soon! |
