RelativityRelativity 1.8
Introduction
The deck I decided to go with was a 60-card Relativity Solver (with temporal events for “utility” purposes), as well as non-future personnel for their possible cheating abilities (OT and LL Kirk, “Relic” Scotty, Dick Galen). The deck is a recent upgrade to what I’ve been trying (giving to the addition of all the extra events that I previously wasn’t running, and Historical monitor for draws), so I was curious to see how it would run.

Round 1BorgChris VolkFW (+1)
I call this a “Light” assimilator as it didn’t run all the high-speed assimilation shenanigans (abduction, Harvest Drone, Reborn) and I didn’t see K&E once. I took a turn of draws before I could get my ship, but as I wasn’t going to see GreasyDukat, I wasn’t too worried about the discarding. We were both going at a slow pace until I was able to get my ship out and begin attempting Navigate Xindi Corridor (NXC) on turn 5. That soon turned into a cat and mouse game as I was trying (often unsuccessfully) to dodge his assimilation. Soon, I was scrambling to get peeps back into play after he had taken them away from me. I got NXC easily after a couple of tries, but he was able to put the hurt on me at REM, and was soon able to snag 7 of my guys, which he soon placed on Bio Distinctiveness (a tactical error I would later exploit). One of his ping attempts, he snagged Data, which would help me later, as he would whiff when randomly selecting another Data during an assault. Once I was just about done with REM, he began going for his own missions with souped up Brogs (wow, this is familiar territory for me!). After getting REM, I was a bit worried about not having the skills to get Deliver Ancient Artifact, but luckily, I still had DickyG and some jobbers who had the skills. This should be about the late game juncture where I drew into my Tacking, and, seeing the one Weak Spot in his Borg Cube of Shenanigans-of-42, blew up his Bio Distinctiveness (getting my 7 guys back into my discard pile!). He did end up getting Ducane and a Simmons in his brig, but that wasn;t too much of an issue as I was able to soon pull off DAA and get a FW of 110-100 points.

Round 2TOSKris SonstebyFL (-100)View opponent's Report
Given that Kris is The Old Pro, I wasn't expecting too much success out of this one. If I recall right, I didn't get my ship until a turn or two in, so was off to a slow start. Kris was playing the TMP guys on the cheap (meaning that my 6-cost dilemmas were likely to whiff), and soon got out to ALC. I was soon able to get going and began working away at NXC, but was busted back a few steps when he ALC'd away three of my guys. The deck just wasn't chugging along on all thrusters (ditto with the dilemma pile), and he was able to get a full win out of me. Given that he /builds/ plays for speed and efficiency, I wasn't on hard-core tilt from this one.

Round 3KlingonKyle ScheweFL (-65)View opponent's Report
I don't think I've played Kyle before, and he definitely had a good deck with him (anything Klingon-Strength seems to be a good bet). My deck ran a little better in this game, as I was able to download Rel right away, and get playing. He was playing likewise, and we were both soon out getting missions. Things went relatively fast (pun), and he was soon able to brute-strength through his mission with enough help from heavy-hitters and the occasional cheater to route me for the win. At that point, I was stalled at REM, with only NXC under my belt. That BOT to nerf Chula: The Dice certainly didn't help me at all.

Round 4KlingonIan ParmenterFW (+30)
It's been a while since I played Ian (I'm pretty sure I have, but memory Is the first thing to go). He was playing Klingon with 3 40- point missions (which I was Still able to out-value for W-PD). I don't recall too much trouble with getting my Rel out, but he did seem to have some issue with his ships showing up. Some major hits in this game came from him using Shared Hallucinations on me three times, and myself only taking the stops (this got me at least two free dilemmas, including a Gomtuu Shockwave). He then sack-punched me with a Dreamer, causing me to lose my three Temporal Transporters while I was mostly done getting REM. I thought I was screwed for DAA, but then, after getting REM, noticed I had enough JobbersWithSkillz (TM) and a Ducane to kill and replay with Hinderance (in liue of TT) to get DAA without help from Dick Galen, so I (to quote Joe Soucheray) grabbed my flashlight and said "I'm Going IN!". He kept me back (while I did that same for his missions, my dilemmas were working surprisingly well this game) until there were five under, and I was on my last turn. He got 4 to draw/spend, and threw an Intimidation at me. Luckily, Naomi was in the attempt, and I was able to blow up Heightened Perception to make the selections my choice instead. I got the misson, and squeaked out a full win.

Round 5DominionZach MagnusonFW (+60)
I Know I haven't played Zach in a while, and he has Always been a cunning player. He kept that true, as he held and used his nerf cards Only against my Temporal Transporters. Like the last game, I ended up saving and reusing my Ducanes to act as proxy TTs. The one major thing that hepled me out was that he was ship-screwed until turn 6 or 7 (and his fist ship got narfed by Energize (!)). He was even using NEUKilana and Kevan for draws, and still had trouble getting a ship out. By the point he got out, I had a core full of events for BigKillz, and was well into my mission solving. By the time I was wrapping it up, he was only onto his second mission (again, ship screwed, and dilemmas once he got into it). It was a good game, but I harbor no illusions about how it could've went had he gotten a ship early enough.

Closing Thoughts
Over-all, I placed 6th out of 18, so I didn't do to shabbily for being out of the loop for a while. It was a great time seeing everyone, and now I will go back into the deck lab and prepare for round two. If anyone I played sees an error, or someting I missed, then feel free to let me know so I can update this monkey. BDubs
