Non-AlignedHirogenOrdinary World
Introduction
Day two of my Nerd Weekend saw me playing for the Hirogen Play Achievement. Little did I know, I was heading into another great performance. I was planning on playing KCA to complete the "Play all Mirror" achievement, but ended up using a Hirogen deck based off of Kris' successful build. The deck just tested so well, that I decided to bring it to the show.

Round 1DominionFerengiKevinFW (+100)
Kevin was trying out the new and apropos Ferengi/Dominion build. We pretty much set up our spaceline to look like one from 2E, as we had No quadrant overlap. My ocular implants helped a Lot with scouting this time around, as he was using mostly new dilemmas, and I needed to be mindful of who to send and who to hold back. When he went for missions, he ran head-first into a Combo Scow, later making a tactical error and sending his one ship with a T Beam to hide at the other end of the GQ. While this was playing out, his other ship was taken down at Camping Trip by a mad spaceborn entity. While this was going on, I was looking at one guy getting put in a trap at protonebula, and another getting caught by a Subspace accident. I also had to play "Dance-dance Missions" while Keving was offering me overpriced advice on which one to go after. I was able to clear out my missions and solve in a couple-turn sweep, mainly thanks to his not having a Q's Tent, and no Q The Ref side pile. Good Game.

Round 2Non-AlignedJustin KaufmanFW (+15)View opponent's Report
The Crimson was packing the artificial guys, and looking to roll over my deck with the faster CM build. Highlights include me killing off 3-4 guys with flapjacks (including Galen and a couple Govals, some much needed science for later), and then getting a lucky draw from his last mission attempt: He stopped for DNA clues, only to later attempt and not have enough Science in his 18 or so people. I was Sure he had this one in the bag until this plot twist gave me the chance to get my last mission, sans any YAAM again, and put this one in the win column.

Round 3Non-AlignedFederationRobert PetersenFW (+24)
Oh Boy! DQ Showdown. We ended up dup-ing three missions for this one, leading to me sitting back from those and waiting for any opportunities that might arise. We both got our DQ teams set up and going, with Robert making the first lunge at one of his non-duped missions. I was soon able to get my implants working (on Seven... *snicker*) and began probing for attempts. It was back and forth like this for a while, with both Robert and myself getting damaged by spaceborn entities. He took a stab at a duped Liberation, only to step away once combo scow came up. Robert then went at Co-operative,as I worked on Proto-nebula. I ended up with a damaged Venatic that was relieved by a downloaded Olarra. He soon got Co-operative cleared, but was unable to get the solve with who was left (thanks Flapjacks!), leaving it open for me to swoop in next turn and take in from under him. At this point, he had gotten one of his non-duped missions, and had only a dead end on the other (40 points). He also had a ship setting out to steal one of my missions, unfortunately for him, it was heading to the end of the DQ opposite the mission with the Dead End, And had his Janeway on it. So while he was stealing that one, I was setting up to one-two my Protonebula, and sending a Venatic down to steal the DE'd mission. We both had ITZ out, so I got P-Neb, then had my ship ready to pounce on the next turn at the 40-pointer.

Closing Thoughts
Not a bad showing at all for this one, and I am happy i was able to pull this one off. The deck worked well for me, and I was able to adapt both to it, and adapt it to my play style. I may keep this one in my back pocket for any higher-level gigs that are sure to come up.
