Introduction |
My next stop on the journey for "There and Back Again" is the damp world of Ferenginar. I decided to start with the TNG 'Ginar starter, and soup it up from there. I swapped out most of the dilemma combos for ones that are still low- rarity, but good, and changed some stuff in the deck (B'Rels instead of scout ships so I have cloaking ships). It was a first run of the deck, but it performed reasonably well, and suffered from a few skill holes, and luck against my dillema combos (and one bad match-up). |

Round 1 | | Justin Kaufman | FW (+75)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
This seemed a pretty lop-sided affair as Justin has trouble getting his MTD to beam across universes. More to come. My biggest gaff was finding out that some last-minute additions to my deck aren't legal in OTF (Oopsie!), so those came right out, and I reshuffled my deck. During the course of the game, my D'Kora got sent on a trip, which wasn't so bad, and I had a mission near the end of the spaceline to go back to once done. Justin's ISS Enterprise also found "God", but "God" said "It Wasn't Good", and blew it up. There were some Quantum Incursions to be had, and that wasn't good either. I also decided to get some revenge for going on a trip by blowing up an ISS Constitution over a couple of turns. Justin got one mission, but I was able to set myself up to get my three and snag the win.
Good Game, Bro! |
I had issues finding my multi dimensional transport devices to get the rest of my missions solved. |

Round 2 | | Jason Tang | FL (-100)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Well, my point-loss dilemmas and Female-drain combo just went out the window (Oh, and Dead End got Neutered as well). I also seeded my better planet combo at the wrong homeworld, so he had an easy time of assimilating Romulus. The low range on the B'Rel also hindered my guys who got sent on a trip by Cytherians, leaving me rebuilding while he was getting the Omega particle to bend to his will. He also Queen'd in some Empathy for the QI's. A sneaky Borg player can certainly come in and cause problems due to their peculiar dilemma immunities. The 'Ginars got skunked in this one.
Good Game Bro, and a Lesson in how these Swedish guys can be. |
Barry was TNG Ferengi, and with no direct interference, my solitaire game was in full swing. I also went first. With only two dilemmas under my Nebula, I seeded my Cryosat there, and hence started HP010 there on turn 4. Edo Probe + Dead End were cleared in one go, but my self-seeds delayed scouting completion until the following turn. Probing was successful on turn 6.
Meanwhile, Barry attempts the space mission at his Trading Post (his planets were on the ends of the spaceline). A big crew on a B'rel pass Ferengi Infestation only to start a slow Cytherians journey. A second crew hits a Gomtuu Shock Wave.
On turn 7, I show up at Romulus, scout past QI (one of the Empathy reqs), THTF, and Spatial Rift, and probe successfully for the win. |

Round 3 | | Robert Petersen | FL (-28) |
Lots of Back-and-forth, but his dabo made it so he only needed two missions to win. I also saw my space combos whiff (well, one did, but the other one would have suffered as well) as he had Nav guys who didn't have staff icons. I was able to get myself up to two missions done, mostly by waiting out and red-shipping to see what the combos had, but I also had to make a tactical decision about holding off on a mission to keep and Edo Probe on one of his.
A Close and Good Game, Bro. |

Closing Thoughts |
I'll come back to this deck during League season and see if I can make any improvements. |
