A Rainbow's Gold |
Introduction |
There I was, hanging out in the CC chatroom after an very intense 2.5 hour game of 1e. Some people suddenly arrived talking of weird furry things. I looked over the rules in 2 minutes and borrowed a deck from LORE (thanks again for that!). A quick update of the lackey plugin and I was quickly shunted into my first ever Tribbles tournament! They say that tribbles is 30% skill, 70% luck - well, I was probably running at 95% luck and 100% drunk, which are perhaps the ultimate Tribbles ratios! |

Round 1 | | | () |
Drank some lager. Unusual for me, but there you have it. I didn't score any points, but managed to get the hang of how the game works and how to play it via lackey too. Someone else took down the round with a decent 100k+ score. |

Round 2 | | | () |
I don't think I missed a drop here and managed to get in two quick 100k tribbles. A quick and very high scoring 200k+ round was taken down by yours truly! |

Round 3 | | | () |
No points at all...but still in the lead overall after this round. |

Round 4 | | | () |
No point to me being there for most of it...but STILL in the lead, although it's anyone's game now! |

Round 5 | | | () |
A really odd game indeed. I was well into my 5th scotch now too. I missed 6 chances to drop in a row (my opening hand was almost all 10s) and picked up on each and everyone without drawing the necessary number. It was looking grim, especially as Matt had smashed his way down to 3 cards and had picked up enough bonus points to actually take the lead. A risky move by me (stupid rather than calculated) allowed me to score 50k by utilizing Matt (I kept saying Matt for effects as I was so drunk, I'd started to forget people's names...even the guy to my right who had the same name as me!) and that put me back in the lead. Then it clicked...Matt was struck with the curse and I just kept throwing down tribble after tribble. The magic 10s came in at the death too, winning me the round and my first ever tribbles event! I thought about a celebratory 6th scotch, but just passed out instead. |
