Klingon[OTF - Virtual] Steal Away (The Night)
Introduction
The virtual online event was so much fun I decided to host one in Manchester. A good variation on block and suitable for newer players too, of which we had two on the day - Andy and Bill.

Round 1FerengiNiall MatthewFW (+70)View opponent's Report
I love playing this goof. It's always good fun, we almost always end up having epic slogs and, if that's not enough, Niall is the master of dropping in relevant film quotes! The opening turns were all about Mercenary ship destruction, but both of us failed to achieve the outright annihilation we were looking for. Still, I managed to slow Niall up a little and whilst he built up a huge armada over time I was able to get at missions quickly and clear several dilemmas. By the time Niall scored 30 points from a mission, I was just a turn away from getting my 3rd mission and hitting 125 points.

Round 2RomulanBill WignallFW (+100)
Bill's first event and he was playing a Romulan Guardian of Forever deck, one that is dear to my heart from the regionals last year. Bill played fine and hopefully I gave him a few tips along the way that'll help in future, but the Romulans just aren't as quick as the Klingon's right now and I completed both Wormhole negotiations and Distress Mission for a total of 50 points each. Welcome to the group Bill - a fellow (if slightly array) Claret!

Round 3RomulanPaddy TyeFW (+100)
Paddy helped get me back into the game about 18 months ago - it's always cool to hang out with the P man and you know his decks will be inventive and, at some point, unpredictable. Paddy's Romulan/Son'a concoction was even closer to the decklist I had at regionals last year than Bill's. I managed to sandwich P's Historical Research in between my Merc Raider seed and outpost. After flying to the Baku planet and attacking his ground troops, Duck Blind was stopped. A few timely attacks and his Son'a ships were limited in range significantly. From here it was tough for Paddy to get a GoF off and I picked away at missions whilst Paddy tried to gather re-enforcements. I completed Distress Mission quite early, but only for 35, then cleared all but a Dead End on Boreth. Paddy then went for a steal at Wormhole Negotiations and I finally flipped HQ: Defensive Measures! It worked! Paddy was stranded and the Klingon ships swooped in to complete the job. Boreth was completed a few turns later to end the event.

Closing Thoughts
Class day - especially the 6 player game at the end! Awesome fun!
