Tournament Report - 1E - Online Event |

Block Sealed Sept 2013 |
Introduction |
I signed up for this tournament since I am still relatively new to the online arena, especially with 1E, and I thought that a sealed tournament would be a good way to dip my toe in the water and maybe get an achievement or two in the process. After some technical hiccups (that I still can't explain) and help from Daniel Matteson, my Klingons were up and rolling. |

Round 1 | | Derrick Marsh | FL (-60)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Basically a mirror match, Derrick was able to get bigger ships out earlier than me in order to battle. I was able to sneak in after he cleared Intercept Sleeper Ship and steal it, but he then stole Impose Order points from me. I was just stupid at the end when I got confused reading the dilemma resolution guide which led to me forgetting to dock my ship and then it being blown up next turn. I might have had a chance had that I just remembered to say "docked." |
Mike has been the #1 guy I always seem to play against when we play in the same tournaments. I think at the NA Continentals was the only time we did not play each other. Anyways, it's always fun playing this guy. He comes up with some great combos and inventive decks. We both ended up playing Klingon so our spaceline was relatively small. I had managed to clear Intercept Sleeper Ship but was stopped and unable to solve. Mike came over and stole it. He then did Impose Order but failed to realize the importance of leaving people down there or to really solve it last. I ended up stealing this mission so we were at his 40 to my 35. I ended up blitzing through some missions and destroyed some of his ships in the process slowing him down. Good game over all. |

Round 2 | | Chris Morse | FW (+15) |
Chris pulled Feds and was working a lot with the ambassadors. We kinda stayed on our own sides of the board for most of the game and my Klingons were able to squeeze past for a very close win. |

Round 3 | | Matthew Ting | FL (-35) |
Matthew's Romulans were running on all cylinders. I really had no chance to keep up with Matthew's pace. I had too many problems drawing my free-to-play guys which led to my demise. |

Round 4 | | John Paul Veasey | FW (+65) |
John was playing Ferengi, and honestly, I was running scared through the whole game assuming he would come en masse to attack me. That never happened but there was some interesting interaction. His Bok was able to capture my Jean-Luc Picard which I thought was pretty hilarious. In the end, I was able to mass-attempt missions and get the win through sheer number of personnel. |

Closing Thoughts |
A very fun tournament that taught me a lot about 1E. Plus, I get the TNG Klingon achievement! Huzzah! |
