Block Sealed Engage! release Seattle 10-nov-2012 |
Introduction |
Block sealed for the Engage release in Seattle... and what did I pull Federation, every block sealed I've played I have always gotten fed well at least I know the deck well. |

Round 1 | | detze001 | FL (-35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
Andrew was playing the Ferengi starter, and we duped Host shield test, I started hammering at it quickly with one team keeping a second team with requirements back but was stone walled when i hit his maglocks as the last dilemma, I had only one strong officers in play, fernegi unfortunately ferengi have a tone of officers, and he easily solved it. I was behind but catching up I needed one more turn to get to another duped mission when he won 100-65. |
This was my first game of the day and I am a little fuzzy on the details. Ken went on to win the tournament earning me the achievement "at least he did not beat me". If I remember correctly I was able to stop him with some wall dilemmas like maglock just long enough for me to get the last mission accomplished before he did. |

Round 2 | | Roxanne Barbour | FW (+35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
My Dillemmas stalled her klingons, and I tore through Host shield test And then stole the universal mission, I then cleared our duped space down to a final maglock! again i had only 2 strong officers and a phasor in play Deanna was in my hand but she would not be strong enough even with the gun. Luckily Roxanne did not have 3 officers either. I flew back to my OP leaving a ship half way there to shuttle people if i cold draw in to an officer. I started trying to solve another mission with a lot of dilemmas, (five), under it keeping my officers and requirement for the space safe, I drew and officer, and then Roxanne played her 3rd one and started toward the mission but she needed 2 turn to get there, i dropped my 3rd one and using that floating ship shuttled down the space line to solve for the win. 100 to 65. |
We duped Amnesty Talks.
Kahless is a great card, skill-wise.
I only had 2 space missions, and we duped one, so my other space mission had 7 dilemmas. |

Round 3 | | J | FW (+35)View opponent's ReportView original Report |
J was the lucky guy that last picked the Romulan starter. Both of us were tearing through Dilemmas at our space with some decent crews, Maglock staled J for a turn, when friendly fire shut me down for 2 turns. I went and piled through a planet almost clearing it when J solved the space releasing a nexus near my end of the space line. I solved the planet but waited to take my stopped people home with me. J solved another planet. I flew and solve host, then flew past the nexus to another planet, and went for it, passing all dilemmas but having requirements stopped. J went for one more mission on his turn and my dilemmas stalled him fro a turn giving me the chance to solve for the win. 100-70. |
This whole game I wanted so bad to shoot some feds. Ken was the only player to have a second play engine, Metaphasic Shields, which helped him some. He went for their space mission early when I did not have the ships in play to blow up his stopped, undocked ship. I couldn't draw my only D'deridex for anything or get the Non-aligned in play fast enough to staff a Zalkonian Vessel. Still, my Friendly Fire combo held him out for a bit and the nexus almost managed to make it longer (but was one mission off).
This game also came down to a hail mary and me attempting one more mission before Ken could certainly solve his last. I chose the planet mission that is worth 20 (+15 for 3 youth) as I hoped that he had put his weakest combo there. He had not, but who knows, the other choice may have gone just as poorly. |

Closing Thoughts |
I got lucky on this one winning thanks to a tie breaker. All in all a good day of Trek fun in Seattle. |
